I am ...Oh, Deanna, your words here are SO my heart! I am as passionate as you are about reaching out to young moms and being a mentor to them. Last year, I reached out to 2 different gals at my church who were pregnant---one, it was child #2, the other, a difficult pregnancy with #4. I barely knew either gal, but I reached out with cards, meals, and prayers. I have continued to invest in their lives, and as a result, I have become close to both of them, one incredibly so.

Some young moms aren't remotely interested in a relationship with someone older, but many are, and I truly believe that God will bring those gals into our lives. May we be sensitive to His leading, step out of our comfort zone, and invest in them.

Blessings,
Patti @ Embracing HomePattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17948766889057998160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159257200454865972.post-2721190734382370822016-06-10T07:39:59.345-04:002016-06-10T07:39:59.345-04:00Deanna

They have not been mothered. What you have...I join you in your passion, Deanna!! What you have observed in your "mother hen" is such a wonderful thing (the tender care and teaching of her young)...so how has being a "mother hen" become a bad thing? I once overheard a young woman complaining about babies in her church nursery being such "mama's babies" and I was flabbergasted that this could be seen as a bad thing! Of course babies want their mamas! They are supposed to!

Our values are so skewed. God help us.Cheryl https://www.blogger.com/profile/00063844335185525553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159257200454865972.post-83933210911331680662016-06-09T20:15:26.435-04:002016-06-09T20:15:26.435-04:00Good points and interesting observations, Deanna!Good points and interesting observations, Deanna!Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00936378953916338310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159257200454865972.post-40405152381830174132016-06-09T16:50:40.862-04:002016-06-09T16:50:40.862-04:00It's a good thing to be passionate about. However, we have all developed excellent mothering skills! Perhaps because it was so important to us that OUR children have real mothers!! I am still mothering.....and will be until the day I die! Amber just sent me a message this afternoon thanking me for keeping my promise to always be a mother and a help to her. I really think you are right about people learning from examples! That's how I learned - only my example wasn't my mother but nevertheless - I still learned!!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09623820316056914224noreply@blogger.com
