I don't think I took home Ec that I remember but I did take sewing in Summer school. Kind of wish I was doing something else that being in school that summer but the knowledge has served me well over many years.podsohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14880888514207597761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159257200454865972.post-9031376896184952102014-03-28T12:45:46.516-04:002014-03-28T12:45:46.516-04:00Yes, I took Home Ec for a year in high school. I would have found this project fun. Because of that desire to go to university, I had to stop taking the classes in high school and concentrate on science. I became a French teacher instead of a Home Ec teacher, but cooking, sewing and homemaking have always been an important part of my life. Now I sub for a Home Ec teacher and it's such fun to see boys and girls learning these skills. Some of the boys do a marvelous job of sewing - they are so precise and willing to unpick stitches to get things just right. My husband and I were discussing this very subject this morning--how important it is for boys to understand how to sew a button on and cook also. ♥The Joy of Home with Martha Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02912198511168813613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4159257200454865972.post-70493628433178673702014-03-28T08:20:34.972-04:002014-03-28T08:20:34.972-04:00This is a subject we never covered in Home Ec....b...This is a subject we never covered in Home Ec....but it is great!! I didn't take it in senior high because I was on an academic track. That is kind of a shame, because home economics skills are so useful and I had to learn many of those skills on my own.

My favorite part of the class was definitely the sewing. I think it was partly because we made individual projects in the sewing class. Cooking was done in groups which made it difficult to reach any level of skill.

I'd like to be a part of your class!Cheryl https://www.blogger.com/profile/00063844335185525553noreply@blogger.com
