Weekend

Tim took this quick photo after lunch yesterday. Kenny wasn't having any of it, some eyes are closed, I was just done saying something. He stands there with the phone and you never know when or what he's getting a photo of! This was pretty good! Ha ha!

The time together was great. Dad always talks about mom being the matriarch. She hates that, but it's true. If it wasn't for her, none of these people would be in our family!

I'm grateful for these people who call me mom/grandma, and missed those who were not here. I've been shaped by my mistakes, and successes as a mother. It's not always pretty when imperfect people are given such noble task. I learned as I went, made changes as I grew, and walked in the light that I had.

I made my chicken salad on brioche rolls, mom made pasta salad, Rachel brought a green salad, Sarah brought a fruit tray, and Kay brought the strawberries for dessert!

The weather was lovely. We sat outside, the kids played at the swings, Tim and Nate vacuumed the pool. Sarah and Dave headed to his family's house.

We finished our required school days last week. Kamryn needs to do some testing still, but I'm always amazed that we made it through another year! This was my 31st year homeschooling. This next year we'll add Kaidence and Kamryn will be doing high school! Wow!

I hope you had a good weekend.

Information Friday

Coming soon! I think these peonies will bloom this week! Today is dark and rainy and seems as if it will be that way most of the day. I need to run out to pick up a grocery order, then I'll be home most of the day.

Some weeks there is so much news. A new pope, a big trade agreement with the UK, a new national day to recognize the end of WWII in Europe.

There are a lot of naysayers out there, a ton of lying, and we must remember that this is a spiritual battle.

I saw this yesterday and thought it was so true.

I remember the days that we believed the media was telling us the truth. Now we know they are a propaganda arm of the deep state globalists.

Scott Bessent has been fantastic.

This I found to be an excellent understanding of what is happening around the world with this mass migration and illegal migration.

"No one is trying to multiculturalize Somalia."

Boom!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

A Fun Day Out

Yesterday, besides being Cinco de Mayo, was my dad's birthday. He's 86 now. Tim and I decided a week ago that it was the perfect day to take my parents on a road trip to Cape May, New Jersey, and it was.

A bit of drizzle to start the day but then the sun broke through the clouds and it was lovely.

After we ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant, of course, we found a park at the waterfront and enjoyed the sun, watched some dolphins, and the Cape May-Lewes ferry come in.

It was a really nice day.

We try to get out for a road trip once every few months, mostly they are day trips but earlier this year we went to Nashville and saw our new grandbaby and my parents 15th great grand. Last autumn we went to the Poconos and did the Fall Foliage train ride out of Jim Thorpe.

With a wedding in August, we'll see if we can fit a trip in the summer.

It's a lot of fun, and they enjoy getting to see new things. So do I!

Information Friday

We are probably 3-4 weeks out on local strawberries, but these brought in from the Carolinas are a great substitute. Deep red and flavorful all the way through! We are having friends over for dinner and I am making sweet scones and cut up strawberries with cream for dessert!

What a great 100 days! I keep saying to Tim that I can't remember when I've seen Cabinet Secretaries so excited about their work, and enjoying working together to Make America Great Again!

This was an interesting update during the Cabinet meeting from RFKjr.

Did you hear what he said? The HHS was the middleman for child s*x trafficking and slavery during the Biden Administration. Who is going to be held responsible for this?

Listen to Tulsi Gabbard in her interview with Megyn Kelly this week. They are busy investigating many things, and I'm hopeful they are investigating what RFKjr was speaking about.

Why are so many famous or people in politics involved with kids?

Another judge...

Another judge interfering with ICE and BP!

Stephen Miller this week to the media!

This is encouraging to me!

Don't let anyone make you discouraged. There is a lot of work to do, and we can pray about all of it, but there are things being done behind the scenes! The work of restoration will take years, but we have made a great start!

Off to make scones! Have a happy weekend, friends!

This And That

These are the beautiful tulips that my daughter in law brought for me on Easter. It seems crazy that Easter was a week ago. Our family is now entering one of our big birthday months.

My dad, mom, Rachel, and Nate all have May birthdays, plus there is Mother's Day. We'll be celebrating all month!

I've come to a stand still on my bedroom. I need a rug, new lamps, and some art for the walls - still. I put is aside for a while but now am eager to get it finished.

I need to get the Guest room finished, too. We'll be using it at the end of July and into August as wedding guests come into town. That is a fun deadline!

I don't know what it's like where you life, but here it is green, green, green! Loving the flowering trees and shrubs, the hay fields, the wild violets in the yard! Mowing season has begun, too.

I'd felt like I'd been eating badly lately but when I weighed myself this morning I am down five pounds from the last time I weighed myself! I'll take that victory!

Sarah is having the Bridesmaids where Emerald green and the guys will have Emerald ties. I chose this photo because is shows summer flowers. Sarah wants to use roses and other flowers in the colors of the roses Dave has given her over the last year! Sweet.

Sarah is having Kyle stand up with her as a bridesman and he is going to wear a kilt! He will wear a white dress shirt like the groomsmen, as well as an Emerald green tie.

I am working on a floral list, and we have already made a plan for food with the caterer. Things are right on track.

Now I should get moving, literally. I've been at the computer for quite some, and need to move!

Have a great day, friends!

Information Friday

I am so looking forward to hydrangea season. Coming soon!

Here are so wise sayings we should heed from some of the Founding Fathers.

We can't rest easy, yet. We need to pray and work to save our nation.

I'm having tech issues with uploading a video I've wanted to share with you. If it straightens out, I'll add it.

Easter Monday

This has been such a lovely Easter. The whole week, though I struggled off and on with back and muscle pain, was full of meaning. I took the time this year to really focus all week on Jesus' movements through the week leading up to his crucifixion. Our Good Friday service was good, and as always we left in silence.

I spent a good part of the day, on Saturday, preparing food, filling eggs, and making peanut butter eggs (Tim's favorite) for the celebration of the Resurrection on Sunday!

What a beautiful day it was. I had tears singing several of the songs during worship that have been meaningful to me during this season.

We came home and most of our family and a dear friend joined us for lunch. Ham, potato salad, a smoked pork butt (thanks to my son in law Weston), homemade rolls (thanks Rachel), deviled eggs (thanks Kayleigh!), and macaroni salad. We also had several desserts.

During the egg hunt Kayleigh found a Robin's nest! Look at these beautiful eggs!

These three cuties had fun finding the hidden eggs! It was pretty special having four generations here to celebrate Jesus' Resurrection.

I found it interesting this morning to see the news that the Pope has died and that he'd met with JD Vance on Easter. I'd read that it was about 12 hours before his death. Reminds me of Queen Elizabeth II who met with her new Prime Minister at Balmoral and the next day she was gone.

JD Vance and his family have arrived in India, and received a warm welcome from Prime Minister Modi. It was sweet to see the children so open and talkative, and included. I saved a video and will show it on Friday.

I hope you are all well, and that your Easter was special. I've been seeing a lot of posts about how people feel this Easter WAS special. On X people are sharing conversion stories, people all over the world are out in public participating in Easter ceremonies, the White House has had several special events in the last week.

All amazing.

In Beatrix Potter Style

There is a trend on Instagram and a friend asked me to do it. She said, "Your house would be the cutest!" so I gave it a try.

I uploaded photos into Chatgpt and asked it to make pictures in Beatrix Potter style!

Pretty cute, right?

Here are the original photos -

I like the Beatrix Potter style edits!

This is Holy Week, and I am not planning to post on Good Friday. I wanted to share a statement that DJT released on the official White House website yesterday.

What an amazing difference from the previous administration, though Biden is a Catholic. Last Easter day he proclaimed it as Trans Awareness Day. On Easter.

I am thankful for the honoring of God's greatest gift to mankind, the sacrifice of his own son for our sins, and that he rose again to new life!

Blessed Easter, Friends!
