Information Friday

My youngest and I took a quick pick in the hallway tonight! He's a lot taller than me, so it is hard for us to get a good photo, though maybe next time he should take the photo! Lol!

Vice President Vance said this week that they would negotiate with Russia and Ukraine in private. That is one reason why Trump and Vance were tough on Zelenskyy today. He turned it to a negotiation in front of the press.

Do you remember a week or so ago, Zelenskyy said that they'd only gotten $75 Million of the Billions of dollars we'd given Ukraine?
I found this interesting.

Maybe this is where a lot of the money has gone? For Ukrainian elites?

Also, JD Vance asked Zelenskyy today if he'd ever said Thank You for the billions of dollars and the armaments the United States had given to Ukraine.

This statement came out not long after Zelenskyy was told to leave the White House.

He apparently through a lot of pushing from Bret Baier while being interviewed gave a half hearted apology.

I think he thought he could treat this administration like he did Biden's. Not happening.

Trump had his first Cabinet meeting this week!

Here is a video from Victor Davis Hanson which is good explaining about how Trump is trying to put an end to this war!

I hope you have a very good weekend!

Home Keeping

Friday, while out running a few errands, I decided to stop by a local garden center. I get a lot of plants from them every year, especially hydrangea and David Austin Roses!

I was looking for small indoor topiary that I could put up on the shelf of my range hood, and I found these Lemon Cypress. The color is fresh and beautiful! I need to pot them, and give them some water then I will get some decent photos. I have them sitting on the shelf in the kitchen right now and I like them.

I'm also looking for a print or painting to go on the range hood. Our weather has been moderating and I saw Robins for the first time last week, so I know spring is on it's way! This makes me happy!

We had a big weekend here.

I spontaneously invited friends to come Friday evening and they did! We had a few hours visiting and it was great. On Sunday we were invited to a lunch at a couple from church's house and that was fun, too!

I know all the introverts are now saying they'd need a few days to recoup, but as an extrovert, I'm here to tell you it filled my cup!

I'm also picking up a friend and we'll drive through a coffee place and get coffee and chai and sit somewhere pretty to talk. She lost her sister during the holidays, and we haven't really had much time together. I want to see how she's doing and how I can pray for her.

But our big news is that Sarah is engaged!

Dave put a lot of thought into their engagement and had a friend who is a wedding photographer hide and do their photos! This one was shot after the official ask!

They are thinking of marrying in the autumn.

We are very happy for them!

Heart Breaking

This post is not meant to be political.

It is just to join in the grief of the loss of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas.

You can see the terror in her face as they are taken hostage.

The horror they endured. The boys were beaten to death.

Then the added grief on top for the family, that Shiri's body was not returned with the boys. They had to wait until today to get the body back.

I'm grieved by what mankind can do to mankind when taken over by hatred. To do such things you have to see the other person and not human.

This is spiritual in nature. Evil.

Mankind is made in the image of God. The enemy of our souls hates that, and wants to destroy humans.

Let's not give into hate.

Home Keeping

I think I like this phrase better than 'housekeeper.' Home keeping feels more personal, and not maid or housecleaner feeling.

I love to keep my home. To tidy it, dust it, vacuum. To clean the sink, and spray the kitchen counters and wipe them. But a huge part of home keeping for me is to think about how I want my rooms to feel and then work towards that design.

My kitchen for example is a lovely space. With Christmas garlands and lights over the doorway and windows its magical.

But since we took the Christmas decor down, it feels a bit cold.

The white paint used in the kitchen is very blue undertoned. It makes the kitchen look colder, than our living room/dining room space.

I'd been looking at cafe curtains, and found some that I liked. But I'd been reluctant to order them, until this past week.  Saturday I got the rods up, the rings on the curtains and I am loving the way it looks.

The two smaller windows have just one curtain on them and they are cute, too! It's amazing what some fabric and color can do for a room.

In my bedroom we've made a change, too! This room is in need of color, and art hung on the walls. It's very motel feeling, but this weekend we got the beginning of an upgrade to our bedroom.

This beautiful oak sleigh bed belonged to my parents friends, and they downsized to a queen and offered the bed to us. Our mattress fit fine, and we are very happy with it. Now I need to work on art for the walls, and a rug for this room.

It's great having our curtains up with the new windows! It's a beautiful day outside, as you can see but windy!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We hosted three young families for our church's Guess Who's Coming To Dinner meals. It was so fun!

Information Friday

I spent most of the week dealing with my cold. But you know how one day you wake up and you can tell you've turned the corner? Yep that happened on Thursday. I had more energy and less brain fog. We went to co-op even.

I thought you might like to see a photo of my hydrangea with snow on top! We had another snow Tuesday night into Wednesday and it's already all gone. It was pretty though.

This has been a busy news week.

Tulsi Gabbard was confirmed by the Senate and sworn in.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was also confirmed and sworn in!

Neither nominee needed the VP to come vote and break the tie. Mitch McConnell was the only Republican to vote against either of them.

The Vice President, JD Vance, has been in Europe this past week. I've loved seeing video of him and his family touring Notre Dame. It's so great to have a young families around the White House. Elon Musk's got kids with him everyday, especially little X, Pete Hegseth has 7 kids (including his wife's three from a previous marriage). The Vance's have three. After having DC so full of old politicians its nice to see younger people involved!

Speaking of our Secretary of Defense.

Basically, between Hegseth, Rubio, and Vance all being in Europe this week, the American's have put Europe on notice. "There's a new sheriff in town, " to quote JD Vance.

Here is a snippet of an excellent commentary on what went on in Europe this week.

I told you we were coming to save Europe. Yesterday, Politico ran a shocking story headlined, “Vance brings a wrecking ball to diplomatic gathering in Munich.” It described Vice-President Wrecking Ball’s speech yesterday at the annual Munich Security Conference, which is like Davos for European security policy. My first thought was, the headline should have been, “United States Has a Vice President Who Can Give a Coherent Speech.” I mean, Vance didn’t even mention the passage of time once.

The attendees probably expected something different from last year’s speech by Kamala Harris, ahem, but I bet they never expected this. Instead of the usual dish of asiatic fearmongering—Russia, Russia, Russia, with a side of China, China, China—Vance flipped the script and served them something they’d never tasted: bitter truth.

Vance informed the shocked EU delegates, “the threat that I worry the most about vis-à-vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor. What I worry about most is the threat from within.”

You could practically hear the shocked and deeply offended gasps when he explicitly named Europe’s elites as the real security risk—not Putin, not Xi, but the unelected bureaucrats, the censors, the election tamperers, and the speech police inside their own governments.

Every day something exciting is happening. Big changes are underway!

I believe Trump doesn't want to control and run Gaza. What he wants in countries like Jordan (the king visited this week), and Egypt to step in. Take in the Palestinians and also pay to rebuild. If the Arab States won't do it, then perhaps we will.

Some people have been trying to scare women into thinking that if they are married they won't be able to vote ever again!

The Girl Named Blake broke it down this week.

I think that all that would need to be done is to show documentation of the legal change to your name, as an example a marriage license.

Republicans do not want a huge voting block to never vote for them again!

The left is floundering and desperate. This also means they are dangerous. Keep praying.

Spring Is On The Way

Ah Friends, spring is on the way! We are having lovely weather.  I have lemon and orange oil diffusing in the living room. My fun bird tea...
