Happy Independence Day Weekend! I've been loving all the fun things leading up to our nations birthday tomorrow!
We are all set to host family and friends, and to enjoy fireworks to end the evening. It's going to be great!
We've had very hot temperatures and it will be a hot one tomorrow, too! We are gathering at 5:00pm and may spend more time inside than out until the evening, and I've got red, white, and blue popsicles to help keep everyone cool.
The Supreme Court did a lot of good rulings this session but two disasters - allowing counting ballots past election day, and birthright citizenship! Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh were not happy with the unconstitutional ruling on birthright and wrote extensive dissents.
McConnell should not be serving in the US Senate. Nor should Rep Maxine Waters be in the House. She hasn't been present for much of the year, but her office staff is allowed to keep voting for her! This has to change!
Also, I'll leave you with a fun fact. One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence is named Thomas Lynch, Junior of South Carolina. We are direct descendants of his on my dad's mother's side of the family! I'm so proud of my ancestor!
