Weekend

Summer is beginning to wane here in Pennsylvania. Oh, we'll have heat and thunderstorms and swimming weather for many weeks yet, but the turn has begun.

I saw it along the roadsides yesterday as we drove to the mid-state to pick up my dear friend Jane. Sumac, and other shrubs along the road are beginning to change their color. The kids in our area go back to school in two weeks, and I can begin to see a slight change in the light.

I love this time of year. We still have peaches, sweet corn, fresh tomatoes and yet the tobacco is being harvested on Amish farms. If I blink the corn will begin to come down, too.

Soon it'll be Amish wedding season.

I've heard that the government are on track to make daylight savings permanent.

I love the change of seasons, especially the change from summer into autumn and winter to spring.

I am going to savor the rest of summer, and time with my dear friend. I hope you are enjoying a fun and satisfying season as well.
