Banners and Lilacs

I am having fun changing out my banner and in honor of the lilacs blooming outside my kitchen door - I have used a lilac banner. My lilac bush has tried me over the last 5 years. I planted it and hoped for blooms that year, as I missed the lilacs from our previous home. No blooms, not the next year or the next or the next. I threatened last year if it didn't bloom I was going to take it out and replace it. It produced 2 blooms. Two. Tim said it was "toying" with me. Hmmmm. This year it is full of blooms, and as we sat on our deck last evening, the scent kept wafting over to us....ahhh. I love lilacs!

This banner is from Banners of Blessing and it was free. She has all kinds of delightful banners.

Please take a picture and post it. I miss my lilac bushes. As I was reading your post I thought... lilacs need a partner to bloom - but yours this years is full of blooms. So who knows?

Beautiful. My lilac bush has alot of blooms this year as well. I love them and that wonderful fragrance too bad that don't last longer though. Enjoy while you can.

very nice! Even though I have horrible allergies to all flowers, I love the smell of lilacs too. It always reminds me of my Great Grandmother (G.G.) who lived with us until I was 10. Just the smell brings back great memories!

hee hee.... and the sneezes :)

Nicole,

That is a bummer! I am so thankful that I don't have any allergies!

Pauleen, our camera is still not working - but maybe my mom will come take some - I dearly would love to post them!

Ohhhh, lovely lilacs! My mother-in-law gave me a start from her mother's lilacs last year. (I love having "heirloom" family plants!) I love it! The look of the blooms and the smell is so incredible!
