Slow Summer Living

Since we've officially hit summer, I thought that I'd share a bit about what summer looks like for me.

I'm a night owl so I often stay up late, so that also means that some days I sleep in a bit. Some days I give Kyle and Kay rides to work, and watch the grand girls.

I don't always eat breakfast, but I mostly do. Food prep in the summer is easy. A salad with beef or chicken, homemade sub sandwiches, burgers or chicken on the grill. The other day I made a pasta salad with chicken, tri color pasta, sliced carrots and tomatoes, and zesty Italian dressing. This is always wonderful as left overs as well.

I am cooking for an almost 20 year old, Tim and myself, and my parents in their mid 80's. Taste differ - though Tim and my dad will eat anything! That is a blessing.

Soon it will be free stone peach season and I cannot wait. I could live on these things! I love to add fresh sliced peaches to a good salad of greens, grilled chicken, french fried onions, tomatoes, red onion and some grated cheese, topped off with homemade ranch dressing! Seriously good and easy to make.

We are heating up temperature wise - at 10:00 am it is already 86 degrees, so the pool has finally gotten some use.

I need to get up early one of these days, and go out to my cottage garden and do a bit of deadheading and removing some plants that are not wanted in my garden.

I have yet to sit out at night time and watch the fireflies but that may be on my list for this week. I see them from the windows and they are so lovely.

I'm trying to take time daily to read a fiction book. One I hold in my hands. I've started one, but world events keep happening and I spend too much time researching.

I'm being present in my real life, preparing for Sarah's bridal shower, having dear friends and family stay with us, having Emma and her family in town for a week before the wedding! I've learned to savor the moments and to recognize them when they are happening.

I hope your summer is a good one.

Information Friday

I spent part of this morning trying out new makeup techniques. I'm a minimal girl on a daily basis, but want something more for the wedding.

Also the sun is shining today! We are going to be heating up temperature wise, too. Maybe summer is here after all!

I love these baby videos. The ones of DJT and John Kennedy are my favorite!

Now some Great News!

He knows what's going on! There is a lot of negotiating and the people themselves are rising up!

From Clandestine -

DJT is a master negotiator and does things legally and in the right timing. Don't be a Panican! Remember not everyone out there telling you information has it right. Give it time to play out.

Happy Summer Friends!

Rainy Days

Woke to a rainy morning. There is a high chance of rain until noon, then still a chance but much less of one until mid afternoon. We have had so much rain. May was the heaviest month with over 9 inches! The gardens and farm fields love it, though I think the corn went in later than normal.

I was hoping to pot up my deck flowers for summer today. We went to a local garden center on Saturday and they already had their annuals on clearance sale! Glad I got a chance to get deep red petunias and white petunias for the deck rail planters, and I got some pretty zinnias for my cement planters that go in the front garden. I'm trying to get that all done and set up before Sarah's bridal shower in July! It's about a month away but its moving fast now!

Yesterday we celebrated our dads in the family, and we celebrated Kamryn who turned 15!

She's petite and its easy to forget she's not a little girl anymore! She wanted Lemon Cake so I made her one and some cupcakes with my Lemon Buttercream frosting! Delish!

How have your summers been? Have you had a lot of rain this year? What about summer temperatures? Overall we've been pretty cool. We've had a few days here and there of hot weather - Nate and the girls swam one day last week - but mostly mild temps and grey skies!

Information Friday

I've spent a few days this week ordering what my guys need for Sarah and Dave's wedding in August. Shoes, pants, a dress shirt. Also they had need of every day items, too. New socks, work pants, etc.

I am beginning to plan the florals for the wedding, which will mostly focus on the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets. They are doing no flowers for the guys, and we are still talking about having some flowers down the tables. I love wedding floral work!

This video shows a family who has done it the right way, legal immigration and a path to citizenship.

The administration appealed this ruling by a San Francisco judge, and the appeals court over ruled that judge!

Kristi Noem was in town too, to see first hand what was happening and was part of a press conference when Senator Alex Padilla came bursting in and moving toward the podium. Secret Service tried to get him to stop and not interrupt but he kept on, so they took him out of the room and cuffed him! Once they determined his identity, they released him and Noem agreed to meet with him.

This was part of the press conference Padilla tried to interrupt!

Also of interest -

To be clear, the majority of the rioters are not Mexican, even though they are waving Mexican flags. Remember the guy on the motorcycle with the Mexican flag circling the burning car? He's Venezuelan! They tracked him with gps from his phone!

Listen to Tulsi

ICE was doing a raid on a Garment District warehouse that is part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering and more related to the cartels. That is why the riots started.

Here is information about Mayor Karen Bass.

She is trained in how to start and run Color Revolutions. This is what is happening with the riots. For more information on Color Revolutions click {here}.

So a crazy week and then we started to move our non essential people and families out of some middle eastern countries. Israel threatened to attack Iran's nuclear sites, and it started last night. Trump had spoken with Netanyahu Monday and all week kept working on a peaceful solution. He's fully committed to Iran not having nuclear weapons.

Trump continues to call on Iran to make a deal and to stop the bloodshed!

Now to other news!

Congratulations to the House of Representatives for finally getting stuff done!

I think it's important to say that Trump and his administration is trying to make change to long standing problems. Unfortunately those who have profited in secret don't like this one bit. DJT is also wanting peace in the world. For all the people of the world to be able to do well, and have a good life. Not everyone wants this. So that is why there is strife.

Keep praying for Peace, friends, and ask for the Lord's protection!

Enjoy your weekend.
