My older kids were 12, 9, 7, and 2 years old. The oldest two at least remember because we had the morning news on when it happened.  We were getting ready to start our homeschool day.  Sarah and Kyle were not born yet, and have lived in a post 9/11 world.

I wish for the unity of the days that followed, with neighbors caring about neighbors and everyone feeling  united.  In the years since then, there has been a concerted effort to divide Americans, until some citizen keep silent out of fear.  This is not right.

I hope you are safe.  I've been reading about the police arresting people who are purposely starting fires all over Oregon and California.  Let's be lights, friends. Let's care for our neighbors, help those in need.

We need God's mercy and grace as a nation.

  1. Let's be lights, friends. I like that, it is what Jesus calls us to do. You are right about the intimidation going on, we need to speak out in love.

  2. Yes, so much has changed since 9/11.

The country came together and flags flew from so many homes and businesses.

Today, there are those who are trying (and succeeding) in tearing our Country apart. The very fabric of our Country, is being ripped asunder.

And one of the most frightening aspects is.... That many people are _afraid_ to say their views, today!!!

Can we, who lived through/after 9/11, even imagine that this horror could happen, to our Country??????????

    And yet, it is!!!!!!

    Courage!

    Courage!

    Courage!

  5. I was getting my son ready for dayschool, he was 4. My husband came home early from his shift and he goes, "Your not going anywhere, we have been attacked." ((what??))--my son vividly remembers the second plane hitting. A very solemn day...

  7. It was a horrific day. How interesting to think of your children being pre and post 9-11. Thank you for those images...we need to be reminded, though any who lived through that day can never forget.

  8. Terrible, terrible day, my husband worked downtown and ran through that awful cloud of dust and debris and literally walked mostly home since all transportation was down...it was unbelievable. We could smell the fires burning for a week, just awful. I really wish the kindness, unity and understanding we saw throughout the country in days and months following would return as we are clearly in need, but I just don't see it...sadly.
