I'm having a consultation today with a chiropractor. It's all a part of my taking charge of my health.
I have an arthritic condition in my lower spine, and due to pain and discomfort, I sit a lot. Then I developed muscle tightness. All this has lead to difficulty with mobility.
Physical therapy has helped some, but I feel like the underlying issues must be dealt with as much as possible, as the PT hasn't helped completely.
I'm hoping for a plan to work on the underlying issues, then PT, then perhaps better mobility, which will also help with weight loss.
I've tried doing it on my own, but I can't. I need help.
I was talking to my daughter in Nashville last night. They see a chiropractor and it has really helped her back issues. They've even had one of their sons adjusted and now he has no ear infection problems. So interesting.
It makes sense though doesn't it? The body systems are all interdependent on each other. So many issues are dealt with isolated from the body as a whole. When we work on the body as a whole, I believe we can gain better health.
It's going to take some time. It won't be a quick fix, but I have hope.

We've seen chiropractors for many years. It's saved my husband from back surgery for lots of years; and even though I haven't needed to see one as often, they've helped immensely when I have needed it. Doctors of Osteopathy do manipulation, also, and I've seen two of them who have helped immensely. Praying you get help and some answers!
Chiropractors have helped me for over 40 years - different ones in different towns where I've lived. They have helped my husband and me survive the aftereffects of car accidents.
I started seeing a chiropractor in 2001. Doing so brought healing from migraines. I still go regularly (every 3 months of so), just for maintenance. And on the occasions that the arthritis in my neck flares up, I go more often. I believe wholeheartedly in chiropractic!
Hope the chiropractor is helpful. Our spines are so important. Take care and happy and healthy wishes.
Yes! But you have to find the right one. The first two I saw were all wrong for me. But the one I have seen for many years now is exactly what I need. In addition, different types of treatment work differently on different people. David and Caroline respond well to the more jerking type motions. I don't. They make me sick. I respond well to the activator, but they don't like it. Another thing that helped me a great deal was dry needling. I have a post about it on my website and also a post about my experience with chiropractic care. They were both game changers for me when PT failed to product lasting results (like your experience).
They can certainly help!!!
Have you tried water exercise in a local pool?
I have had a lower back problem for many, many years (I was born with 2 extra vertebrae) and I ALWAYS see the chiropractor! It has totally helped me. I can go for months (sometimes years) after seeing her without problems. I'm glad that you are at least going to give it a try!!! They usually want to see you for at least 3 consecutive visits, so if you don't see progress right away, hang in there!!!!
I went to the chiropractor for the first time a week or so ago. I did a post on it and was happy with the results. In fact, I am going back today for another session!
No, I have visited a physical therapist, but not a chiropractor. I have considered it so I'll be following along closely.
