"They hover as a cloud of witnesses above this nation.” – Henry Ward Beecher
A soldier or sailor or marine or pilot doesn't make the decisions of what wars or conflicts to get involved in, but they have given themselves to serve and so they go. Too many never return.
May our leaders always be wise enough to not get involved in endless wars, and courageous enough to do hard things.
This day used to be called Decoration Day. When the families of the lost soldiers would go and 'decorate' the graves of their loved ones.
The British call it Remembrance Day, which I think is a good name for the day.
Friends, as you spend time together with family and friends, I trust that you will keep in mind those that gave their lives in service to our nation.

How do you feel about your President's Memorial Day tweet not mentioning our brave troops that gave their lives for our freedom?
I find your comment ridiculous in light of his very public Memorial Day speech at Arlington Cemetery.
Hugs, Donna!
Amen!!
