Another Wedding

Did I mention that I am doing the reception decor for another wedding?  Our pastor is getting married on Sunday afternoon, to a sweet lady, and we are all very happy for them.

A few months ago Jenny, the bride, (who did all our nails, and did hair and make up for Lindsay's wedding) asked me if I would decorate.  Of course I said 'Yes!'  I love weddings and pulling all the details together to create a beautiful reception.

The details are lovely - hydrangea blue napkins, to go along with the blue hydrangeas on every table, using the Fruit of the Spirit to name the guest tables, white fabric tablecloths, beautiful votive candles.

Our facility is small, and this wedding has grown to have many guests!  We are squeezing every last inch out of this space!  Tim made me a 'to scale' room model (like we did for the reception for Lindsay's wedding).  It really helps me to see the space and picture the seating and the traffic flow for this space.

Tomorrow, I'll be going over to set up the tables and put on the tablecloths, and set out the flatware and napkins and plates.  I will be working on it on Saturday too.  After being a tad stressed over it I think I have a handle on it all.

Saturday will be pick up day for the flowers.  I ordered them through Costco.  As my friend Denny says, "Costco is king!"  They have great items and prices.  Don't know if you know, but hydrangea, especially out of season, are expensive per stem.  Costco is reasonably priced.

I will of course, take photos of the rooms and tables.  Trusting the Lord to make this a special and God honoring day!

  5. Oh, a blue hydrangea wedding will be just beautiful! Both of my daughters love hydrangeas so I hope at least one of them wants a blue wedding to go with the blue ones. That would be so lovely. I saw the work you did on the social hall with your friend, too. It's all going to be wonderful, and the best part of all is that you get to do this for your pastor.

  9. I am sure the wedding will be lovely. Will surely be checking back here for the photos of the day. I love hydrangeas, we also had them for my son's wedding five years ago. It is my first time on your blog, but somehow, I felt at home as soon as I stepped in. Blessings... Lidia
