A Day Off, With Friends

We are spending the day with our friends, recently moved from Texas for residency at Johns Hopkins.  They are already friends of the heart...I love when God does that!

We are going to watch the Nutcracker and eat specially prepared foods that go along with the ballet...I'm thinking lots of Sugar!

Kyle will be so happy to play with his friend and leave us girls to our fun!

I am thankful for this time today...snuggling up on the couch with my kids, enjoying friends, eating yummy treats.

I am thankful to have a 'burden bearer' who exchanges our burdens for His yoke, which is easy and light.  I am letting Him carry my sadness and heartbreak.

I am thankful for the reminder of Christmas - that Light has come into the darkness....to save us from our sin.
 Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
  Sleep in heavenly peace!
  Sleep in heavenly peace!

Silent night! Holy night!
  Shepherds quake at the sight
  Glories stream from heaven afar
   Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
 Christ the Saviour is born!
  Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night! Holy night!
Son of God love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
  Jesus, Lord at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

It certainly does sound like a sweet day on all sides. My kind of day!

Allowing the Lord to carry our sadness is such gentle, good advice. Thank you.
