Weekend

After a very full week, our weekend was quiet.

I had lunch with a sweet, longtime friend on Friday. We met when we responded to an ad she had placed years ago for riding lessons. "Natural horsemanship, Christian environment." It was perfect for our Lindsay, and a friendship was established! That was 18 years ago this summer, I remember because I was pregnant with Kyle and it was a hot summer!

Mom went too, and it was a really good time of catching up. They have an orchard and are raising goats, plus they live nearly an hour away, so we don't get to see each other often!

Saturday was Tim and Kyle's chance to catch up with their friends, a father and son duo. They went over late afternoon into the evening. I had the gift of not cooking, and having a bit of time to myself.

Yesterday, we went to breakfast with Rachel and Wes, then home for some time in the Word. (our church doesn't meet 4th of July weekend)

Later in the day, Rachel and Tim went to Costco. We needed somethings, Mom's car needed fuel, my parents wanted to buy a pack of fireworks, too.

Our friend Denny came by, we had a nice rain storm. A tornado warning was given but we had no clouds in sight by then and the radar was clear. Tim did get some cool rainbow photos.

Today, is a work day for Tim and Kyle, and we are hosting an Independence Day gathering tomorrow! Summer has finally arrived, heat wise, and we'll take advantage of the shade of our maple trees and of the pool!

This year let's remember the sacrifices that our founder's made and vow to not let America go the way of other nations.

When Larry and I were still working, if July 4 fell on the Tuesday, we'd give our employees the Monday off, as well, so they could enjoy a four day weekend...Always fun!
Happy Independence Day!
