The Titus 2 scriptures have been a big part of my life. I have a heart to encourage women.
I found out about this website from Sherry at Large Family Mothering.
This is the topic for today.
When you read the Scripture found in Titus 2: 2-5, how do you see this playing out in your own life?
I have been both a younger woman, and an older woman. :) When I was in my late teens, I had a great friend who mentored me and encouraged me in my walk with the Lord. She gave me a vision for what my life could be when I married and had children.
Now as a married woman (21years) I have been able to mentor young women, and now I am also mentoring my own children, including my 17 and almost 15 year old daughters.
What are your areas of strength? Of weakness? Wow, in the beginning of my married life, I really needed to learn submission! That in submitting to my husband I was really saying "I trust you Lord, to take care of me." This is still an area of learning for me - but I have come along way! I think my real weakness at this point is not getting over committed in areas outside of my home. I have learned to love my home and my home life, but being a "get involved" kind of woman, I too often take on too much.
If you could set some sort of goal in relation to this Scripture, what would it be? To continue to see my home life as being a place of ministry. It has value beyond compare and I need to recognize it and allow the Lord to use it, as He sees fit.

I think this is an area that MANY women struggle in. I think sometimes (not always) it part of this discontentment of not feeling like we are doing enough in the body of Christ. However, as women (especially those who are married with children) we need to recognize that our first ministry (and somtimes only ministry at times) is to our families!
Great thoughts today and I am so glad you joined us At the Well!!!
This is great Auntie Dee. I agree with you on our homes being a place of ministry...it is a small mission field, but oh a very important one!! It is so important to lead our children to the Lord and to help them live it out! Great post!
Thank you so much for sharing today!
I too struggled with submission when my husband and I were first married. I have come a long way, but still see much room for improvement!

I've found that you wise ladies are being Titus 2 women through your blogs! Thank you!
yes our home life is our ministry! great post!
Submission is such a big area for us as women, and such an important one. It's something that older women can really help out the younger women with!
Mrs Rabe! I felt so much at home when I visited this blog and loved your music and posts....and then, reading that your husband was a missionary kid in Senegal...and putting the two together...well, I'm wondering if we might have a connection since we, too are missionaries. You are welcome to visit the blog I am doing as a result of my Mom's passing this last year. I will be back because I sure love what you are doing here! Blessings!
This is such a thought provoking post. I, too, have strugled with submission. I think most women do.
It's hard for me to see myself as an older woman though I've ben married for almost 20 years. These days, though, with mentoring my daughter and preparing her to be married this summer, I'm much more aware of how I'm doing as a wife. Of how often I fail, and of the eyes that are watching me.
A beautiful post.
The next time you come to Williamsburg, let me know and we will take a walk down DOG St. together!

Thank you for this post. I would like to talk to you sometime about being submissive to your husband; I could use some help in this area.
