Lilacs, French Bread, and Dishes

Aren't these lilacs heavenly?  They smell amazing!  Our guest brought them to me last night! Delightful!

Here is a photo of the Sweet French Bread, well what was left this morning anyway.  I made french toast out of it for lunch today and with real maple syrup it was to die for!
Thank you Karen for sharing this recipe!  If you would like the recipe to try for yourself you can go here for the post Karen did on her blog back in March!

While we were away overnight this week we went to a few thrift stores.  Emily and I both bought things at one store in particular.  These bread and butter plates are from Wedgwood & Co, Ltd.  Before you get too excited I looked them up and they are not Josiah Wedgwood, but a distant relative.  However they are lovely and on Replacements.com they list the pattern.  They do not have any of this size in stock, but list them for $7.99 a piece.  Do you want to know what I paid for mine?  50 cents a plate.  They are a really nice size for tea and scones.

Oh, those lilacs are so pretty! It has been such a long winter that I am just savoring every flower I see.

Your bread turned out beautifully, too. It's a good thing we're leaving town or I'd have to make some so I could have French toast too. You and Becky make me crave it. ;-)

I like your new dishes-I agree, they're perfect for tea and scones. Don't you love deals like that?

Your bread looks lovely!

The lilacs I see around make me miss ours from when we lived near you.

Your plates are very versatile.

Okay, first I see this bread on Becky's blog and now on yours. I guess I'm going to have to try it. It looks delicious and sounds divine, but it will have to wait until we are finished schooling.

Information Friday

We had a wonderful wedding weekend in Missouri! We drove, leaving Friday morning and came back on Monday! It was long, but it was worth it...
