A month or so ago, Tim was approached by a terrific young man in our church. He wanted permission to get to know Emily better.
Now, I should say that we've all spent lots of time together, the young people in our church play sports together and do Bible study together and that kind of thing. Emily and Joseph have seen each other in action for a year and a half - they've seen each other interact with others, and with their own families. You know what I mean - the real life stuff.
We've had the opportunity for the last year and a half to get to know him before his expressed interest in our daughter. We liked and appreciated him very much.
So, since Emily was also interested in getting to know him better, Tim gave his permission.
They are enjoying the process. Time together taking walks, drinking coffee, hanging out with their families, and friends at church.

I guess all I can say for now is that God is good.

It did make me smile because I remember the reaction of non-homeschooled young people when they found out Christopher asked M.'s dad for permission to begin seriously seeing his daughter.
You asked her DAD to "date" her? Ummm... yes.
Sosme had even thought it odd when J. asked my husband for Stephanie's hand in marriage since they were both well into their 20s.
Praying for this new relationship to blossom (if it is God's will).

You are so right , God is so good!! How refreshing to find a true gentleman! To me this is the proper way of how courtship should be, I think families getting to know one another is so important. I am enjoying seeing how you and your husband are rearing your children and of the Biblical values you both place on family.
