Event though the leaves are almost gone from the trees, there is such beauty this time of year. I like the changing seasons. I like to see the fields laying barren - resting.
Last Friday I was driving home after grocery shopping and dropping Rachel at the home where she babysits. I love to drive on the back roads and see the farms settling in for winter to come.
As I turned out onto the main road that would bring me home, I saw this.
Between my dirty windshield and the position of the sun it was so hard to see, but it was so beautiful, that I held my phone up against the steering wheel and snapped a few photos.
All I did to these photos was to crop them a tiny bit.
We don't see many sunsets from our house. We have hills around us and live in a bit of a hollow, or as the kids say a "ditch." We really enjoy them when we can really see them.
I hope you are enjoying the Autumn. I know I am. The crisp days, now getting to be cold days, soft sunlight, fires in the wood stove, blustery winds with leaves blowing around the ground.
Sigh…so much to love.

The leaves are now mostly fallen from the trees so I can see the occasional sunset.
I can't see it at all from late spring through late fall. Sometimes a tinge of color above the treeline.
Recently there was a lot of anticipation for one of the harvest moons but I couldn't see it until it was well above the tree line in the East. Still pretty but without the golden glow people raved about when closer to the horizon.
Looks as if between the two of us we've got a day pretty well sewn up. =D Down in the hollow sounds better than down in the ditch, don't you think? Ha! We are just seeing a glimpse of sunset and it comes might early up here...well before five.
Yikes! I just checked to make sure that I was telling the truth. I was...the sun will set at 4:16 today. Ackkk...
I am enjoying Fall! The sky has been so pretty in the mornings here. Today the weather was cold (30's) with wind!
I love these quieter days of autumn, too. They are good for lighting candles in the evening (which I need to remind myself to do) and pick up a book or some hand stitching. Our fall has been quite warm so far, which is also very pleasant.
I'm right there with you..love all the things related to fall!
Your sunset is beautiful. Be care driving!!!

You are so right, Deanna. There is just so much to love in every season, and I tend to think that autumn has more than its share. That sight would be the kind I would want to stop and photograph too. I love it.
(And yes. My shot would be taken through a dirty window. No doubt.)
Yes Ma'am, I am enjoying these gorgeous days too:) The sun, the sky, the leave... ALL are beautiful! Have a blessed rest of the week, HUGS!
I love that you captured the moment! Too often, we are busy scurrying here and there and miss the beautiful things that God has for us. (I think that is true on many levels.)
Although autumn is my favorite, I am also glad that we live in a place where there are seasons. Each has its own beauty.
I know this is an old post, but I wanted to pop in and say that these beautiful pictures brought me a lot of joy. I grew up in SE PA and those sunsets and fields made me think of home. Thank you. ;)

(I'm not sure if it went through or not, so my apologies if this is double!)
I know this is an old post but I wanted to pop in to say that these pictures made me smile. I grew up in SE PA and miss it, and seeing the sunset and the fields like I grew up with made me smile. Thank you! ;)
