“I am resolved to be a good mother to my children, to pray for them, to set them good examples, to give them good advice, to be careful both of their souls and bodies, to watch over their tender minds; to carefully root out the first appearing and buddings of vice, and to instill piety, virtue and true religion into them.“

A New Addition To The Family

Max.  Part Maine Coon - Part Mystery.

Lindsay has better photos so I will post those sometime soon.  Tim brought him home as a surprise for the kids.  We hope he will be a good mouser.  He is very mellow overall.  He needed a dip in soapy water to kill fleas, and we bought some Frontline.  Lindsay cleaned his one ear that was a bit icky.  He was relaxed through it all.

His full name is Max McMousebane.  Lindsay said his last name needed to be Celtic because of his coloring and with the hope that he will live up to his name!  She makes me laugh!

The younger girls woke up giggling as Max was pouncing on Sarah's feet.  Max was a bit sad to find himself alone in the wee morning hours so Tim put him on their bed and he settled down for the rest of the night.

Life just got a bit more interesting.

Yes, I'm sure it has, but what a cutie pie. A good mouser is always a good addition to any cottage and a home is not truly a home until there's a cat upon the hearth. ☺

Hello Max! You're cute!

The lady we got our kittens from told us that she sprinkles a little garlic powder on her pets food every morning and they don't have a problem with fleas or worms.

He is a cutie for sure! I hope he will be a good mouser for you. Someone told me that male cats let the females be the hunters most of the time so if you really have a problem with mice you might get a little female companion for him! I know our female kitty is a great hunter =
