We then head west through the mountains in New Hampshire, into Vermont and then I think a trip across Lake Champlain into New York, where we may get to meet another longtime blogging friend.
I was delighted today to see that the peak foliage for the areas we will be visiting is in early October! Right when we will be there!

Maine is still on my informal "bucket list" (though I get scared off by the rumors of bumper-to-bumper traffic).
I hear that Vermont is really getting hammered right now - with more rain on the heels of the hurricane. I wonder how/if this will affect the colors???

It is a dream of mine to go to the east coast and see the leaves change.! We live in the middle of the desert right now so to see the leaves change we have to drive an hour up a mountain we live by to see them. There is Japanese Maples, some oak and Aspen that put a pretty show. ;o) Here next month we will start going every weekend to see what we can see! ;o)
We used to when we lived in New Jersey. Your trip that you have planned really sounds wonderful!

Oh my, Yes, Yes, Yes!!! This is by far my very favorite time of the year!!
We, too, have been talking about our vacation coming in early October. We are excited. It's been way too long since we've had a family vacation. However, we will be heading in the opposite direction to the Ohio/Kentucky area to see the Creation Museum, as you know.
That sounds like so much fun! We love to go leaf looking!
