Refining

In this month dedicated to celebrating LOVE I thought that I would share a few verses on what God says about love.

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

1 John  15:12 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

1 Peter 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

I find that as I grow in Him, He challenges me to go deeper, and as I do we come to areas that He wants to refine...

Love is one of them.

One thing is certain, the Lord is always at work. I'm so glad that He is usually gentle and I have learned to not be so possessive of those areas where He wishes to work. This is definitely going to be a life-long process.

I love that first verse! It is His love for us that enables us to love others and to forgive. We certainly do not have the ability to love so lavishly by our own power!

In a world where we are looked upon as weak for not seeking vengeance, and for practicing and believing in the Golden Rule, this is such a reassuring reminder of what is right. There is such power in unconditional love which, of course, goes hand in hand with Ephesians 4:32. Thank you for the post.
