This wreath is outside the kitchen door - which is where most guests enter our home.
These mums and pumpkin on are the kitchen door step. Behind the mum is where I used to have a lilac bush. It didn't flower well, and it was terribly over grown. I removed it for those reasons and the fact that when my parents add on to our home, this space will be in their laundry room/pantry.
The weather has been delightful. Warm days, cool nights. Perfect.
It's fair season here in our county and our favorite local one started today. We hope to get over to walk around and maybe watch some equine events on Friday. This year the girls decided not to compete.
We have a local farm that sells their pumpkins for the best prices around. Most are $1 or $2, while the more unusual ones are a bit more money. Ours were all $1 pumpkins.
I have been spending quite a bit of time outside - I always do in the Autumn. Saturday after we got home from our trip I cut back the dead summer flowers, and the kids helped me pull some weeds. It truly looked like the Adams Family garden! I finished by sweeping the walkway and steps. The next day the walkway was covered in dirt! The source of that mess being our lovely hens who love to scratch around in the garden!
This photo was taken today - smaller mess but with evidence of their walking
I got my hair cut! It really needed it! It is a bit shorter than I have been wearing it, and the layers are a bit shorter - I like it. It works well with my natural curl, and my cowlicks, and baby fine hair, that has a mind of its own. In the weeks to come I hope to do some posts on embracing each season of life your in. I'd love it if you'd tell me in the comments what season of life you're in and what you like or dislike about it.
Happy Autumn!

You've worked really hard to welcome Autumn into your home!
Wonderful touches in every room with pumpkins, leaves, berries, fruit and flowers!
I love your wreath hanging by the kitchen door
It is such a special season of the year - time to harvest food for bottling and freezing.
Preparing the house and garden to hunker down for the Winter that will slowly creep in.
Have a lovely time at the fair today!
Hugs

I just love fall, and all of your décor looks beautiful! I am still working on ours! I would love to see your new haircut...need to do something with mine soon!
I am either in late fall or winter. Can't say that it is my favorite, but it has its joys.
What beautiful autumn decorations you have...the cottage looks so cozy. The color and shape of the mums in that last photo is marvelous!
Right the last photo of mums not the last photo. I am so tempted to lop off some of my neighbor's hydrangea bush, but I'll be good!
Lots of pretty fall touches around your house. Mums are such great fall flowers - they bloom and bloom.
I'm in autumn, I guess. I love being a grandmother, and mom to adult children. I like being "just the two of us" again, with options for more when I want.
I don't like feeling like my productive years are past and I don't think they are, but I'm struggling with finding direction for the next stage.
Everything looks warm and inviting.
Your autumn touches are so pretty! I love, love, love fall! I am working on my own autumn decor post, but it's been a busy week, so I have been decorating in fits and spurts.
Please show us your haircut! You know how ladies are...we want to SEE it! :D
To answer your question...I suppose that I am in the autumn season of my life now, although having a large span between my first and last child, the seasons are less distinctive. Mostly, I enjoy this season, although I do wish for greater energy. Ideally, I'd like to have the energy of a 25-year-old and the wisdom and patience of someone much older. :)
you had me at hydrangeas... :)
