The one that sounded the most interesting to us was called Relevant. There was good worship, and the pastor preached the Word, challenging this congregation that is made up of many William and Mary college students. It was so neat to be among fellow believers, in a different state and a different church atmosphere than our home church. Kind of a taste of heaven, as we were all worshipping the Lord together.
Then we went to lunch.
Finding something to eat that was on plan is challenging on vacation, but so far I'm doing well.
Then we went to see the Glassworks at Jamestown. The photos are on Tim's phone, and he and Emma are out getting coffee this morning, so I'll post those at another time. We finished our time at Jamestown by doing a driving tour around the island. We saw deer including a nice buck, several does, and a fawn, though not altogether. There are historic markers along the drive that allow you to read about some of the things they did here at Jamestown, farming, learning about native plants, etc. Tim allowed the kids to have the sliding doors open on the van as we were going about 10 miles an hour. Then he let them trot alongside the van.
We went swimming back at the resort, ate a light supper, and watched a movie with our friends. Then we called it a night.
We are going to Williamsburg today. It's supposed to rain. I am praying that it does not rain while we are there!

I know where you went for lunch. I can spot it a mile away...:). I think it sounds wonderful. Visiting Jamestown is on my to do list, especially now that my daughter lives not too far beyond it. We plan to do a Virginia vacation soon.
I need to look back and see if I missed an update on BOTH of your girls. I prayed for you all.
As for the church thing, it sounds like you found a wonderful place to worship. Like you, we usually worship privately on vacation. Actually, we did that yesterday right here on the home front for other reasons. It's something that we have rarely done in, but he read aloud from one of our books of Charles Spurgeon sermons, and it was actually pretty wonderful, quite convicting, and very peaceful too.
Sounds like a lovely Sunday. Jamestown is one place I'd like to visit if I'm ever out that way.
How lovely! We used to live in Virginia Beach and often visited Williamsburg! Such great history up there! Y'all enjoy! Cannot wait for pictures!
Sounds like a wonderful time so far! Glad you had the church experience....I think it is always good to get a "Taste of Home--our Heavenly Home" as we worship with fellow believers in unfamiliar settings...
Oh, I hope it didn't rain on your parade today! Colonial Williamsburg is gorgeous, but I'd not want to do it in the rain.
It sounds like you're having a great week...lots of fun, lots of laughs, and meaningful family time. May the Lord continue to bless your time together!
It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. I hope your daughter is improving.
