Teatime Tuesday

Every Tuesday my friend Kelly hosts "Teatime Tuesday." I have been wanting to join in, and so today is the day.

I am a lover of tea. I guess it is in my genes - all that good Scots, Irish, and English blood. There is nothing nicer than an evening cuppa!

I have tea on the brain these days as I prepare for our church's second annual women's tea. This year it will be in October on the 5th, instead of in December, as our church is going to do a Walk Thru Nativity this year. We wisely thought that we should move our tea to the Autumn!

I am excited about it as Autumn is my favorite season. I love all the colors and the way the sunlight looks and the gorgeous blue skies, and the sight of pumpkins...well, you get the idea!

I thought I would show you a few photos from last years' tea.

It was such a lovely evening with many guests in attendance as well. We shared about keeping Christ in Christmas and told many ways to do it.

This year I haven't settled on an exact theme yet, though I am leaning towards one. A decision soon - then invitations to go out and decor to pull together. Fun stuff!

The week after this tea is my annual tea for the Mom's in our homeschool co-op. I love to pamper these ladies!

Becky, over at Hospitality Lane showed some lovely teapots today from Winterthur. I'm thinking I need to make a visit to this lovely place.

In the meantime, I will close this rambling post today with a few photos of some of my tea things.

If you have tea things, I hope that you use them as often as possible. We use mine almost daily. They are meant to enjoy and to be used.

I have a saying "Relationships and people above things." What I mean by that is that our relationship to people is more important than anything we may own or wish to own. So we will always choose people over things. That is how I feel about my tea things as well.

  4. I have a few of the same tea cups you have! What a great idea to have an autumn tea! How about you come to Nebraska and help us establish one in our church :-) Wouldn't that be fun?! I have a feeling you are an awesome gift to your church there & that your gift of hospitality inside & outside your home, is a blessing to many!

    Loved your post & pics!
