Did you know that September is National Sewing month?
I didn't until this morning. I am hoping that this fact will spur me on to finish several projects I have going.
Also I hope it will spur me on to show you the projects once they are done.
Do you sew? If you do, do you make clothing, quilts, tote bags, all of the above?

I am a beginning sewer/quilter. Like you, I have a few projects going on but can’t seem to finish them.
Maybe you will encourage me to move a bit faster.
When I sew it gives me great satisfaction. Making myself start is the problem. I think it's because I have to sew at the table, so once I start, I have to live with the mess until it's finished. Knitting on the other hand gets thrown back into the project bag when I take a break and everything is tidy again until I want to pull it back out which is one quick movement and take 3 seconds!
Now that everyone here is older they are much more fussy about fit and such. Not to mention that yard sales and thrift stores provide clothing for less than it cost for the material (even when I buy it at Wal-Mart). When the girls were younger it was fun to sew for them, Erin is learning to sew for herself. She made her sister a skirt for her birthday. It's a bit snug which is disappointing but not immodest and she liked it!
Now I sew mostly for the home and gifts~ baby quilts, stuffies. aprons...
So how's that for a sewing commentary for national sewing month? ;)
Blessings, Debbie
I did not know that September is National Sewing Month, but that should motivate me to get to doing the sewing I've been wanting to do for the past couple of weeks and still haven't gotten to.
I want to make some curtains for our little one's room and some skirts for myself. I would also love to attempt to make a purse sometime soon, just not sure how to go about it yet.
I lnly knew it was National sewing month because of a flyer from JoAnn's. ;o)
I like to sew. I sew mainly fun stuff like bags, pouches, table runners ,pincushions, and cloth napkins. But I also sew our skirts a lot of the time and an occassional regency dress.
Here is a link on my old craft blog where you can see some of what I have sewn.

Happy sewing! ;o)

I am not a seamstress; I pretend to be one. ☺
Had no idea about the significance of the month, but it may explain a few things.
When I sew, I prefer to make items for the home. My daughter keeps sending me cute things I could make for her to wear. I'm not so sure about that.
