Garden Work

Emma and I went on a trip for the shoppe this morning and when we returned we found this trio busy in the garden.

Lindsay talking layout, was also digging out sod where it had grown under the wood chips.  Did I mention that we learn new things every year with our garden?

Sarah and Kyle had been working very hard helping Lindsay.

See?  This counts for health/safety and physical education.  Plus they are learning in a natural way how to work and grow food.

Don't pay attention to the mildew on the propane tank.  Tim will be pressure washing everything soon!

Rachel and I, with Kamryn then worked on the back flower beds, pulling weeds.  I am thankful for lovely people work alongside!  There are no photos of Rachel and I and we were both okay with that!
Lindsay soon joined us, while Kyle and Sarah got their lunch.  Then our friend Sarah joined us and helped out!

Of course, Sadie is always supervising.  Somebody needs to make sure we don't goof off!

Later, I did a poetry writing session with my students - we are leaning about Cinquain.  It was fun.  Kyle wrote about Worms, Rachel wrote about Horses, and Sarah wrote hers about Books.  Fun!

Now we are making an Easy Chicken Curry Recipe, we have artisan bread headed for the oven and we will finish our meal with fresh berries and whipped cream.

I'll try to get photos...
