Mentoring Monday: Quotes By Sally Clarkson

"I have blown it many times with my children, but even these mistakes have helped me to mature and depend on God more than I would have without my parenting responsibilities. As I walk honestly before God, with my children watching, they will learn how to have a real relationship with him as well. As they see me apologize to them and pray in front of them to ask for God’s forgiveness in my own life, my children will learn that God is a God of grace who forgives me and guides me.” p. 87, The Mission of Motherhood

So aware of my own "mistakes" (yes, even sins) while parenting. I know God's forgiveness and grace. Still find myself unforgiving of myself in the sense of regrets sometimes...

A good and godly mother is a great blessing. I have been so blessed. And somehow God allowed me to be a mother...I remember realizing that I wasn't always doing it well and praying most earnestly that Jesus Himself would stand in the gap for me for the sake of my children. I find myself praying this still. One thing is certain, God has no grandchildren.

Excellent quote, Mrs. Rabe.

Information Friday

We had a wonderful wedding weekend in Missouri! We drove, leaving Friday morning and came back on Monday! It was long, but it was worth it...
