Love the built in bookshelf and how the shelf doesn't go all the way to the floor.

I've always been drawn to British things, and after watching Escape To The County on Netflix, I realize that this is my style.  Warm colors, relaxed interiors with the feeling of inherited pieces, art, books, flowers, children, dogs.

Its totally me.

What about you?  What have you been pinning on Pinterest?  Do you Pin?  Lets chat and share links in the comments!

    1. I do like some aspects of French style, too. And I know that the English were often influenced in clothing and design by the French, so there is a lot of crossover in styles.

  2. Pinterest has lost some of its shine for me; I am seldom there. English Country style is a very nice one. I could go for it. 🙂 You and Brenda like it a lot so I have been exposed to it. I am watching a Netflix program about seaside homes. This one features Cornwall. It’s like visiting Doc Martin.

    1. I do Pinterest in spurts. Loving English Country style is one of the ways Brenda and I are alike. Her daughter teases that we are the same person!

    2. By the way, I watched that “Escape to the Country” program all day long yesterday. That’s a day I’ll never get back. The countryside and homes were lovely; however, only one couple actually purchased a home! I have zero sense of closure. 😊

  3. escape to the country is such a wonderful series!
there's also a follow up type program called
'i escaped to the country' which features a number
of folks who went on to purchase a country home
and how their experience to date. that's on youtube.
i love the english country style and am recognizing
that my english country style is morphing into a
more minimal reflection. ♥ the pictures you shared.

    1. Your home is so beautiful and warm and welcoming. Minimal can still be done in English style! Thank you for letting me know about the show on youtube! I'll check it out this evening! I love Escape to the Country! I wanted to live in all the 'shires' and in so many of the houses!

  6. I stopped doing Pinterest a couple years ago but I do LOVE these. I lean toward English Country and Early American for my favorite way of decorating. Stephanie reminded me once that Early American IS English Country if you think of it. ;)

  8. I go through spurts with Pinterest. I tend to pin a lot of recipes, sheep and primitive décor. what I really need to do is go back through all of my pins - I tend to pin and then rarely do I go back and review what I pinned! I do love the English Country - so pretty and comfortable!

  9. These English rooms look dreamy. I recognize a flower print from Laura Ashley on a cushion. I still keep my Laura Ashley catalog books from the 1990s on my shelf since ordered some wallpaper for our Maryland house years back. I pin antique-style doll quilts but haven't done so in a year.

    1. Older Laura Ashley will always be dear to my heart. I still have a few dresses and skirts from the early 90's.

  10. They are all so beautiful and comfortable - just taking a few elements from each and trying to work them in our own homes would be a lot of fun. Thank you for posting!

  11. I love what you've shown here. True comfort and elegance. I need to watch that series. I haven't been on Pinterest in a long time.

  12. Oh, these rooms are so gorgeous. You and I have the same style...these are very much like many of my pins. Just so cozy and warm looking. I love organized clutter!

  13. I get in spells with Pinterest. There may be weeks when I don't even open it . . . and then there are times when I Pin away! I use it sort of as a (free) magazine. Finding house-y ideas and looking at them again and again. I love how I see patterns in what I Pin. It kind of reveals to me what it is that I really like about a room.

The Pins you shared in this post are definitely swoon-worthy. (I also love your board with tartan plaids!)
