Beautiful Day

Yesterday was a spectacular day! Lovely temperature, beautiful sky, the first hints of the changing seasons.

I drove around a bit after an appointment and then stopped home to pick up my mom. I wanted her to get out and enjoy the beauty, too!

We drove around, saw the tobacco beginning to be harvested, grabbed some lunch and ate it at a local park.

We are having mild temperatures. I looked back to last year in August on the blog and I remarked about the same thing. I have the office window open right now, and it's lovely.

I want to thank you all for your prayers for our friend who has been battling cancer. He was acute, but has stabilized for now. He'll be coming home soon, and will receive some PT and OT at home, as well as having some other care at home. He's doing chemo for quality of life, not quantity of life and we appreciate your ongoing prayers for them and all who love them.

We know that our days are in his hands. Psalm 139:16 says, "Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them." (ESV)

How glad we are that we can hold on to these truths.
