Home Keeping: My Home And My Daughter's Home

After I made my bed this morning, I realized I didn't show you the room with some of the art work on the walls.

I've made a change on my side of the bed as well.  The little red chalk painted cupboard used to live in the hallway and now is my bedside table.  I moved my dresser into the closet.  Now all of mine and Tim's clothes are in the big walk in closet.  Very handy!

I like being able to open and close the curtain more easily at this window, but I'm not loving the curtains.  They are obviously old and have shrunk in the laundry over the years.  However they are fine for now.  Once I decide what I want for curtains, I will be raising the curtain rods above the window.  I like how that looks.  I may have to sew my curtains as well, since they will need to be longer than average that way, and they will touch the floor.  No more short curtains.
You also can tell that this bedroom does not have baseboard trim yet.  It will hopefully this year.

  I love linens.

I was at my daughter's home for a brief time today.

I took notice of how she is making this cute rental property warm and cozy for she and her husband.

Great spot to cozy up and read at while watching it snow.

They are not able to use the fireplace properly so they put nearly every candle they own in it and burn them.  It makes a cozy glow.

We also got the news today that my son and his fiancĂ© got the place they applied for and will be moving in this month!  We are so excited for them.  This is a big answer to prayer and they are so happy!  Now the wedding planning will kick into high gear!

It's a joy to see your adult kids building their families and homes.  I'm thankful that family and home are important to them.

  5. I like the little "tweeks" to your room. The red cabinet is a great addition....Is it the color of your curtains or just the way they hang that bothers you? (I ask, because I've noticed a couple of people have sewed "trim" to the bottom of their curtains to make them longer - creating a "custom" look....)

I like the way your daughter has placed candles and books to create such a homey atmosphere.

Nice to see the peeks into Lindsay's home. What a clever idea to create a "fire" with the candlelight!
