Taking Care Of My Home

doesn't just mean keeping it clean inside and decorating.  It also means taking care of the outside of our home as well!

Yesterday Kyle, Kamryn, and I worked in Kyle's bedroom to rearrange furniture, organize legos (never ending job!), and purge some 'little kid' toys from his room.  More on this tomorrow.

In the evening, while Tim washed cars, I did a bit of weeding in the front garden and to plant a few new things.  I hope they take well in the garden and if they do I'll show you!

Now we are back from the movies (we saw Finding Dory) cute film, and I have cut some branches off one of the maple trees in the front yard.  They were starting to hang over the driveway.

Here is a photo from a few Autumns ago.  You can see how it was reaching the driveway then.  It was a needed pruning.

In a few minutes, I'll be going out to mow the property.  This takes about an hour and a half.  I have my earbuds and Pandora to keep me company.

What are you up to, today?

  1. That is a pretty tree; you are busy with yard and garden work. Me too, I weeded around one of our blueberry bushes this morning. It was overgrown with tough weeds.

  2. Owning a home just takes a lot of work, inside and out (and washing cars too). But it's good to work and there is pride in keeping a home looking good. I'm the mower in our family too.

  5. Taking care of the outside of a home is hard work for sure. We have about half an acre, and the backyard has 16 fruit trees (used to be 19). Our 5 cherry trees are being picked now. The plum should be ready in about a month, and the 3 peach trees after that. The pears and apples will be ready in September or October. And then, of course, winter requires pruning.

Our yards definitely don't take care of themselves!~

    Have a fantastic day,
    Patti

  6. After a 20 minute walk, we weeded in one of the flower beds and cut back some mums (a little late, but we'll see if it helped). It was so nice & cool out! Gary is mowing the lawn now.
