Weekend

My husband owns his own business and works hard. He often is working on reports and paperwork in the evenings, after a long day. He uses Saturdays to do projects or help people with their projects, etc.

Earlier in the week, however, I asked if he had plans, he didn't, and then asked him if we could go out together to a few stores I enjoy. He quickly agreed.

After sleeping in, which is a treat for him, we got on our way mid morning. Hobby Lobby first, where we got a new welcome mat, and I bought yarn for a baby blanket.

Then we went to a local antique mall. This place is big, and while I still managed to find this water color painting and a beautiful tea cup, many of the booths are turning into pop culture collectible booths. Like hundreds of Pez dispensers, and other memorabilia.

Here is my teacup.

For me to buy any more teacups they have to be unique in some way and this one has a cup shape I do not have!

So we went to an antique store in Strasburg that we hadn't been to in a few years, and there was a lot to see. Three floors worth!

Tim found this platter for me!

It is gorgeous! I'll get a better photo this week. It's dark and rainy today.

Tim also found this mug.

It's not polish potter but looks similar. We are trying to upgrade our mugs, and get rid of all the ones the kids collected while living at home but now do not want! The goal is to have few mugs, but more that are pottery style.

Here is a closer look at the painting.

I found the same print on Etsy selling for about $65 dollars more than I paid for it! Wow!

When we got home on Saturday, the last of the ewes had lambed and so we stopped to look at them all. Steven, the Amishman who owns them had come over and got the fencing set up again and the ewes were enjoying the spring grass! There are a total of six lambs. One ewe had triplets, the second ewe had twins, and the last ewe had a singleton. She was not showing much interest in her lamb and we noticed in Sunday that there were only five lambs, so I believe Steven and the family are bottle feeding that last lamb.

I made the Cracker Barrel copycat recipe again for grilled chicken tenderloins, green beans cooked in bacon grease and biscuits for dinner.

Sunday, we took to grands to church, and came home and made sub sandwiches. Kyle joined us and then he and Kamryn went off to the store and a few activities. (We'd already taken Kenny home) The day was lovely and warm and we talked about doing a fire. I reached out to friends to see if they wanted to join us but we ended up at their house!

We sat out in the garden for a while.

We ate dinner outside, moved inside for a while, then we came home. It was a very good day.

I hope your weekends were just as lovely.

Information Friday

I got this Fraktur as a gift from my dear friend Britt. It is watercolor and is an original piece of art she found at an antique store. I LOVE it! It hangs in the hallway and I pass it every day plus I can see it from where I usually sit in the living room! The quote is a good one!

"Life is a gift for the giving."

We should remember this daily and live our lives with this in mind. In these troubled days, which honestly have been troubled for many years but we didn't see it, we need to walk with God and give of ourselves to others.

Now onto some information.

You can read the article{here}.

It's horrible that there are American's who are siding with this regime simply because they hate Trump.

{Here}is a statement by nations that are now coming to help out in the Strait.

Why would they not want ICE at a polling place? There should be no need for ICE to be at a polling place if illegals are not voting.

Dave at x22Report calling it out!

Well, we all know that most of congress is not that smart. Jamie Raskin showing his intelligence! The Founding Father's were British citizens who's families came to a British colony. They were not undocumented immigrants.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Tonight we are going to a concert for our co-op. Two grandgirls will be singing with their classes.

Weekend

flowers from years ago!

We worked on Kyle's old bedroom on Saturday. Tim got the old platform for a double bed that he'd made for one of our daughter's years ago, taken down. Several kids had used it.

It had four drawers in it and was like a captain's bed. It was not needed anymore so he took it apart.

I sent a photo to the daughter he had made it for and she sent back an emoji with a tear. It's the end of an era!

Now we have our recumbent bike and rebounder in that room.

I'm so happy to have these items out of our bedroom! I realized on Saturday that this is the only room we don't have baseboard trim!

Of course that fact and the need for baseboard trim will lead to repainting this room as well. It's always a snowball effect isn't it? It will be nice to have that all done eventually.

I am in the middle of picking paint for our bedroom, and now I need to decide on a color for this room, too!

This room faces NW and is never bright until the afternoon in the summer. (I lightened this photo because it's March and it's a rainy day) So, I will want it to be a light color. I think I need my friend Britt to bring over her paint decks to browse through!

We also need to take all the wall stuff down.

I met up with a few friends on Friday afternoon and it was such a good time of encouragement and friendship.

Sunday we went to lunch with a few of our kids and a few grands. The little grands were good and had fun but would have been just as happy to have gone home. Problem is by time we get out of church, drive 20 + minutes to their house then those minutes again to get to where most of the restaurants are it's nearly another hour. So we just took them all with us! LOL!

It was fun and it was good to spend time together!

What did you do this weekend?

Information Friday

One of the three pregnant ewes in our barn (they belong to our Amish neighbor) gave birth to triplets! Still waiting on the other mama's to give birth! These lambs are so cute!

I decided to try something different for my Information Friday post. I am posting several videos from Promethean Action. These are not too long and they are excellent in that they explain what is going on behind the scenes with Iran. There is more than meets the eye!

This video from Barbara Boyd of Promethean Action is excellent!

{here}is a video short by Susan Kokinda of Promethean Action.

Barbara Boyd again.

The City of London is the financial center of the UK and very influential in the world. The UK has be way more influential on what the US has been involved with over the years, than Israel.

Trump is changing things.

That's all for today. I am going to meet up with a few friends in about an hour. I am glad for that! Have a great weekend!

Spring Is Here

Spring has shown its face and I am very happy about this! A week from today (high of 68) will be in the 40's and the days after into the 30's, but that's spring in these parts. The warmer weather is coming!

I opened some windows this morning and am enjoying the fresh air. It was a very cold winter. Along with the cold temperatures we had a lot of grey days. This sunshine is very welcome!

I've begun the process of removing the winter things, like woolen blankets, and lightening up the decor.

We have guests for dinner tonight. They are the same guests who were going to be here last week, but last minute our friend got stuck having to stay over at work. Tonight's the night!

I'm making poppyseed chicken, and either a salad or green beans. They are bringing dinner rolls. I think I may make my brownies for dessert but use xylitol in place of the sugar. There will still be carbs from the flour, but I am mostly focused on actual processed sugar at this point. It should turn out exactly the same as when I use sugar.

{Here}is a link to the recipe. Xylitol is a one for one substitute for sugar, and doesn't have a weird aftertaste. However! If you have pets do not feed them anything made with xylitol. It's fatal to dogs and cats.

(We have a cat but he does not get human food ever. Well, we have given him canned tuna before but that's it. Plus we'd never give him dessert foods. We try not to eat much dessert ourselves!)

Is Spring springing up in the areas where you live? I bought some peony tubers, stock tubers, and begonia tubers at Costco Friday night! I'm eager to get them planted!

Information Friday

It's one of my granddaughters’ birthdays today! I wish I were with her, but I know she's going to have an awesome day!

This is incredible! Ken Paxton is building a lot of political good will but also helping to accomplish a huge plan that is needed to save our country!

Kristi Noem is out at DHS. Trump has fired her from this job, but is kindly giving her another post. He values loyalty, but she lied about him. So we'll see.

And because I think it's so important to laugh...

Have a great weekend!
