We Are Having A Real Winter This Year

According to weather sources we are in a neutral pattern, not an El Nino or a La Nina, and somehow that has made our weather in the Mid-Atlantic region frigid and snowy.

Right now at 9:15 am it is 13 degrees with a real feel of 1. It will get  to be 26 today, but that is unusual weather for us. Some winters we might have a few days of super cold weather but not months of it!

I am definitely looking forward to Spring. I have begun looking at flower catalogues! I almost bought some yesterday but for five small seed packets, the shipping was going to be higher than I wanted to pay. I'll go to my local garden shop and look at seeds and plants, soon.

I can't wait for my roses to be in bloom again!

And my peonies, too!

And eat fresh strawberries!

I can't wait!

God made the seasons, and he gives us good things in each one.

"Summer, and Winter, and Springtime, and Harvest

Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above.

Join with all nature in manifold witness

To thy great faithfulness, mercy and love."

I frequently wake in the night and one thing I love to do is peek out the window and see the stars, planets, and the moon. Last week the moon was still so bright and I could clearly see the shadows of the tree trunks on the snow!

Here is a photo I took from my chair in the living room of the full moon on the 1st of February.

Of course this photo is cropped and so there is some blurriness, but there was none that night and it was simply stunning.

Here are a few other recent happenings.

A new five year old in the family!

I got a new used chair that is just perfect for my home! This wingback chair, was at a local reuzit shop, and my bestie found it for me! $40 bucks!

I am getting ready to take my mom to the eye doctor for a regular check up.

Remember, no matter how stressful the world is, we can lean into Jesus and to continue to make our homes havens of peace.
