With every beautiful photo I show you of my garden, there are more I don't usually take. Every garden requires work. Weeding being the biggest thing, for me anyway, but there is also the work of cutting back plants when they are spent, dead heading flowers, collecting seeds.
Its been hot and humid here and the plants love it and so do the weeds!
The cicadas are singing already, and its hazy out.

We're in our second year in our new home so landscaping from scratch. It's a slow job but I love seeing bits of progress. Tons of weeds though. Some are so pretty I'm tempted to keep them. Who would know, out here in the country?! Enjoy your garden! Chy
I go out early every morning to see what's blooming and if that doe has made off with more of my buds. Usually, despite deer repellent she has. Not last night, though. I treated the soil this year for the first time against Japanese beetles and that seems to have helped a lot. I weeded last week, but should do it again and then get my mulch out...thanks to John, I have several barrels still full of stuff. I also took photos this morning so will do a post soon, perhaps Saturday when I will be busy unpacking. ☺
Good grief. I am slipping. Spent so much time yapping about my garden that I didn't comment on YOURS. What's the point? Anyway, yes, there is still a lot of beauty in your garden. Does it usually continue well into October?
I know all about weeding, dead heading all other things that come with a garden.
Yours is very pretty. I only have potted plants now. Getting too old for all the bending and other garden work. I do enjoy seeing others gardens.

I love having Echinacea in the garden. I leave it well into the autumn, because the finch love to eat the seed heads! We can see them from the living room window!

Chy, it might be slow, but it'll be so worth it! When we bought our house it had old 'flower beds' that we hard as rock. My husband dug them and turned mushroom soil into the dirt. We mulched every year and over time, it made a lovely soil. Remember that weeds are real plants often with nutritional and medicinal value. We call them weeds because we didn't plant them there!
I'm really happy that I don't have deer eating my gardens. I guess they have enough food in the corn fields that they don't come close to the house!
Some of it does. I have mums that look like daisy that will still be in bloom then, they don't really bloom until September. Most flowers will be done and cut back by then. I also need to give my boxwood a huge cutting back this year!
I know I'll be in your place one day, and I'll do pots too! I love gardens and seeing other peoples gardens too!
I have Larkspur, Echinacea, Black Eyed Susans, Feverfew, Hollyhocks in these beds. I enjoy them so much!
The heat and humidity is helping here at all, we have to water a lot! Thanks for sharing.
