Scenes From Our Day

We had a very laid back day yesterday - no rushing about, no stress. It was great!

Our dogs Samantha and Sadie, enjoyed themselves too.

Sarah likes to dress like a cowgirl, when the inspiration strikes! Her she doesn't have the hat on but she was in her "outfit."

I put the turkey in the night before all that was left to do was peel potatoes and apples.
Here are the girls working in the kitchen - where was I? Sitting on the couch in the living room!
Rachel peeled almost all the apples for our apple pie - it was yummy!
Kyle wanted to go outside with the others so he got his snowboots and his polar fleece on. Then he said "I need my sunglasses!" So he got those too. He is a character!

There was of course a lot of hugging going on yesterday!

And a big brother jungle gym!
With our week going differently than originally planned, things had to be reshuffled. So Tim cut our tree yesterday, instead of today, so I could get that decorated!

Here is the tree with the lights on and the ribbon.

I don't have a photo yet, of the tree finished. It is so beautiful! Kyle however says "it needs more Christmas!" He doesn't think there are enough decorations on it yet!

Today, Becky and I are decorating at the church, so it will be ready for the beginning of Advent. That will be fun, then a trip to Target to exchange a coat for Emily. Then I may just catch up with the rest of my family, who are using chain saws, a log splitter and a lot of muscle to get firewood for our friends, my parents, a lady in need who lives nearby, and us.

Good thing I don't need to worry about what to make for dinner!

  1. Your priorities were in place for Thanksgiving, MrsRabe. :o) Sweet pictures of a feast being prepared, absolutely adorabable wee ones and bigger ones, using big brother as a jungle-gym, beautiful Christmas tree (even w/o the 'more Christmas'), and love - much love. :o)

    Bless you.

  4. Your tree looks nice even with just the lights and ribbon. We usually put our trip up the day after Thanksgiving too, but we decided to do something different this year.

By the way, the advent calendar you sent to Elijah is beautiful. Where did you get it? I've always wanted to do one of those.
