My old frames were 5 years old, and I had the lenses changed out one time. When I went for an eye exam in the late summer of 2016, I was surprised to find that I had a cataract on my right eye!
That was taken care of in December, then my "eyeball wizard" as my dad says, did a quick laser treatment to deal with a bit of thickening in the scar tissue.
After all the recovery time, I finally got an appointment scheduled to have a new exam. I was very excited because I needed new frames and the prescription no longer was right due to my surgery!
Five years ago when I first got the old frames.
Glasses on the left the old glasses, on the right new glasses. The photos on the right were taken this morning while I was on a job site with Tim. Grey and gloomy day with some rain.
I made two videos yesterday to send to Emma, and I decided to share them here, too! Does anyone else think they sound like a dork on video, or is it just me?
I am very happy with my glasses and I think they look fresh and young!

They do look chic!
A new look for a new year! I adore Vera Bradley products...you look mahvelous!!!
Isn't it a miracle what can be done for our eyes now? You do look young!! Too young to have cataracts. ;) I have a tiny little bit in one eye too and I'm 53. My hubby already had surgery on both eyes and he's 58.
I hold on to my frames for a long time, too. I love them...you look great!
I don't think you sound like a dork, but I sure do. Love the new glasses and I imagine that you don't have to wear them all the time, do you?
You look very good in your new glasses, Deanna!
You have a very attractive new look.
Yes, they do look great on you. Darker frames shape out the face better, that's what I went with this year also...yea for looking younger!
Hi Deanna. You sound great on video. Not weird at all. Glasses look nice. I'm needing to go get my eyes checked out and diff need new glasses and frames. It's not one of my favorite things to do as I've had some real issues picking frames over the years.
Blessings,
d
I like them a lot. I'm hoping to get some new ones soon.
