Weekend

Progress is being made on bringing decor and artwork back into our living room/dining room spaces. I've also begun to bring out the autumnal dishes, diffuser blends, etc. I love this time of year.

As I sit and write this it is 62 degrees and sunny, there is nothing like a beautiful September sky.

Kyle has a follow up with his surgeon this afternoon. He has finished all his hand therapy that can be done with the therapists and now he is to keep working on it at home. It's amazing how far he has come!

Last Friday morning, I drove to Baltimore (my mom went with me) to pick up our dear friends, Rick and Jane, for the weekend! What a special time we had with them.

Friday afternoon we went to Jane's favorite Amish/Mennonite stores to buy bulk spices, peaches, and other produce. Then we came home and ate my homemade Sloppy Joe's along with fries, sweet potato fries, and cantaloupe. In the evening we set up Tim's big screen, projector and hooked up the Blu-Ray player to it to watch an Eagles concert from 2005. It was from their first farewell tour. It was so great for the Eagles lovers who live here and the visiting ones! LOL!

Saturday we had fun, too. We ladies went to tea, and the guys did a Harbor Freight and Costco shopping trip.

We ran some errands afterward, and then went home. After dinner (blt's with local tomatoes!) we settled in for a movie on the big screen.

Sunday we went to church, came home for lunch and to rest, then went to dinner with Rick and Jane to celebrate their 51st anniversary! We've known them for 35 years! We've been blessed by their love and friendship and they really are family.

Yesterday it was time to take them back to the airport. They had flown in for a family memorial service midweek, last week, and we were thankful to have the weekend together.

We went to breakfast with them then drove around through a state park in Maryland on our way to BWI.

This pretty house and barn with a cool door were a part of what we saw.

Tim and I came home afterward and cooked some steaks for dinner with Kyle and my parents, and then we played Quiddler.

Thankful today for family, dear friends, direct flights with no delays or cancellations, sunshine, cool temps. I'm thankful for the Lord, for with out him we would have none of these blessings!

How were your weekends? What did you do?

We had a lovely weekend with our daughter who traveled 5 hours to be with us for a large family reunion. Also enjoyed time at home eating special casseroles she brought, played games, and just visited.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! It was chilly here today, too...and it was nice.

So many reasons to be thankful: good times with friends, tea, Kyle's significant progress after his injury, good food, a peaceful home, fresh paint and getting things settled, and yes, fall on the way! Our Father is so generous!
