The Search Is On!

Tim needs a truck for work, and Rachel is in the market for her first car!  Exciting times!

Tonight we looked at a GMC Sierra and a Toyota Tundra for Tim.  There are positives about both vehicles.  Decisions, decisions.

Rachel would like a Subaru Impreza

This body style is her favorite so its her first choice

But she'd take the sedan if she had, too.  She likes the Subaru's because they are 4wd and they are great in snow, etc.

Her third choice would be a Mazda 3.  Also know that she is on a budget so the YEAR of the cars will be much older than these!  She is saving for school for next year, also, so she has set a limit for spending.

My first car looked like this

I had it still when we got married, and we didn't sell it until I was expecting Lindsay.  It had a tiny trunk and it would have been hard to get Nate's booster seat and Lindsay's car seat in the back seat of the Camaro!  I loved this car!

We've been looking online, going to look at trucks and cars, and we are praying for just the right ones and good prices as well!  Feel free to ad our vehicle shopping to your prayer lists!  It would be greatly appreciated!

I'll keep you posted on how it all turns out!

What was your first car?  What do you drive now?

My favorites are the two vans I had......both big conversion vans and I loved them! We have toyed with getting another one but I doubt we'll do it! I dislike shopping for cars! I drive a 2010 Ford Fusion and Louis Dean bought it for me brand new all by himself while I was out of town. Fits me perfectly but not him. We will be in the market for a new car in a few years. I hope he will just buy one for me! I don't even like to car shop a little bit!

We owned a Tundra for a few years, and it was our favorite vehicle ever!

Well I love your first car! My first car was an aqua Ford Mustang. I loved that car, too! Happy choosing to all those who are in the market.

I didn't learn to drive until I was married! We had a 1954 Buick. We have a Kia Sorrento now and I love it.

I've never had a car just for myself. My father got us our licenses but never insured us for his car so us girls never drove regularly until we got married. Car insurance was crazy expensive in NJ and I don't blame him since we were mostly away at college. Since then we've inherited or fallen into second hand cars. But I think I got my first car for me just last fall when we needed to replace my mom's car we were driving, and I got to pick my dream car (honda crv), second hand of course, but it was fun to be the "designated driver" for this car choice. I've thanked God for it each time I get in to drive somewhere. :-)

I really dislike car shopping. There's nothing about it that I enjoy! I do love your first car - how fun! Sure beats my bright orange Mercury that my sister and I shared. Everyone knew when the Ward girls were in town thanks to that color. (think orange M & M!) I think Dad did that on purpose!

That's a fun story and I bet your Dad did do it on purpose!

We always buy used! Its more affordable and we can get lots of upgrades without being the one to pay extra for them! My first car I bought when it was about 10 years old. I really enjoyed that car!

My friends's family had a conversion van we used to drive around in in high school! If you don't enjoy shopping for cars, let LD do it for you!

That's good to know! My husband really likes the locked cover on the back of that one, so we'll see. The Sierra has a locked cover too. We are weighing age of vehicle, milage, etc...

I love Mustangs! I've always said that a Mustang would tempt me to buy a Ford. (I'm a Chevy kind of girl)

I think that was more common then. After we sold my Camaro, we bought a Buick - huge trunk, lots of space - that thing was huge! We called it the 'tuna barge!'

Thanks Theresa! I like vehicle shopping!

My sister had your first car! It was her second. She also kept it until she was married and was expecting her second...funny.

We bought our daughter a subaru, so we now have three subaru's! They are the best car on gravel and the safest in snow and on ice...in my opinion:)

I married into "my" first car . . . which was really Ron's first car, a Dodge Scamp. Currently, I drive a minivan which I love! I may be aging out of the minivan, but I like the height of a van, and I love having the extra seats for carrying small passengers now and then.

Hope your car shopping ventures are successful!

It is funny!

My daughter likes that they are all 4wd.

I've never heard of a Dodge Scamp! I'm going to have to look that up!

I like my mini van well enough, but won't mind when I do not need one anymore!

Information Friday

We had a wonderful wedding weekend in Missouri! We drove, leaving Friday morning and came back on Monday! It was long, but it was worth it...
