In the troubled world in which we live, I am taking hope in the words of Psalm 37 -
Fret not yourself
because of evildoers;
be not envious of wrongdoers!
For they will soon fade like the grass
and wither like the green herb
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noon-day.
Be still before the LORD
and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one
who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out
evil devices!
Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the LORD
shall inherit the land.

Very timely in light of yesterday's events. I have more to say about it, but will zip my lip (for a change). Hope that you're enjoying a lovely spring day and not one where winter is rearing its head.

ReplyDeleteFear not, it tends only to evil.
Such a good reminder to keep our eyes on the Lord.
Perfect and I this is my life passage for the year.
ReplyDeleteGood reminder.
ReplyDeleteStraight from God's heart to His people!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to "zip my lips" like Vee did :)
Fretting may be interpreted as a refusal to "let it go!" I pray that he will encourage my trust in His Mercy instead of my own understanding.
