The Weekend

Friday kicked off a busy, but fun weekend.

It was Rachel's 20th birthday

but we also gathered to celebrate all our May birthdays!  Papa, Birdie, Nate, and Rachel all have May birthdays, as well as many of our nieces.

We went to Red Robin.  My niece Kaitlin was in town so she came, too!

Here Lindsay is entertaining Klaire, Kamryn is checking out the menu, Nate is helping her, and Joseph was caught while talking!

This is just a gratuitous rose photo!  They are looking so amazing this year!

On Saturday, I ran the diffusers with Lime, Lemongrass, and Beramot.  It smelled so good while we were tidying the house, and preparing for a game night/birthday gathering. Not only was Rachel's birthday on Friday, Wes' birthday was Sunday!  Lots of celebrating here!

Speaking of celebrating, Kamryn turns 9 this month, and her birthday party is this coming Saturday!  Its being held early because Mommy is due with baby sister the same week of Kam's birthday!

Lindsay is making these amazing fun noodle ponies for her party!  Each little girl will be taking a pony home with them!

Sunday was church and a chance to have lunch with friends we don't see enough!

Here is a photo, from the car, of a beautiful back road we traveled on the way to lunch!

We have another celebrating weekend coming up, Kamryn's birthday party here on Saturday, and Sarah's graduation party here Sunday afternoon.

Then Rachel returns to school for her summer ministry, and I was going to say that things settle down for a while but in reality they don't.

Things happening this summer -

Kayleigh and Nate will have a new daughter in the next week or so!  Grandbaby #5 for us.

Sarah goes to youth conference at the end of the month.

Our dear friends arrive for the last week of June, to start their summer camping trip.

Kyle is filming The Fellowship of the Rings with friends.  He has grown so much since they started this project last year.  He plays several characters - Bilbo Baggins, Gimli, Butterber.  He said the door of Bag End used to be taller than he was, but now the top of the door is level with his forehead!  {grin}

My brother and sister in law and most of their kids will arrive in July for a reunion and 60th wedding anniversary party for my parents!

Rachel graduates in August, and after her academic work was finished on May 24th she has a 4.0!  So proud of her, not only academically, but in the way she's grown and allowed God's work in her life.

At the end of last week I had two bits of saddening news, one is a health issue of a dear friend, and one was the loss of another dear one's father.  I've been lifting them up in prayer.  Its a reminder of the swiftness of time, and that our lives are in His hands.  We may not know what tomorrow brings, but we know WHO holds the future.

Happy Monday to you all!
