Today, ladies and kids packed boxes for members of the military that are a part of our church. The Women's Ministries Team sponsored this event. Many people donated snack foods, devotionals, batteries, etc...We also were able to send cards, letters, and boxes to one of our guys serving in Iraq and to his whole platoon! We were excited to hear his mom talk about the soccer team that he has started and how alot of the gum and candy will likely go along with the soldiers on patrol to share with the Iraqi children. The above picture is of Lt. Neal Rice and members of his platoon. They have been instrumental in getting the marketplace in their area back up and running. They have helped take this area where locals were afraid, to a place where people are out and shopping and going to school and playing soccer.
We were so pleased to be able to encourage them and let them know that we are praying for them!

This is a great thing you gal's did!! And it's encouraging to hear about the soccer team. We don't hear that on the news!
There is so much good that the news media seems to skip over.
This is a very good work you did.
We have enjoyed doing that in the past. You remind me that it would be fun and a blessing to others if we were to do it again.

Our Women's Ministries group does a similar thing. Every month they gather stuff to send to one of the people of our list of those serving. So every month they are putting a different one together. We seem to have a huge group serving out of the US. Our church is only about 150 people and we have 32 people we are sending boxes too :) I am glad to hear of other churches doing this too :) After all this time they still need to know we love them and are supporting them. God Bless!
What a blessing!! I know it will be much appreciated by them! I have a dad in my class who is over there fighting for us, and came home once and I was able to chat with him a bit and how much it means to receive those care packs!
That's really neat!
