Several years ago, if I was talking about my Baker Creek order, it would have had mostly veggie seeds in the order. We grew some amazing vegetables in our old garden with their heirloom seeds. These days we buy fresh veggies from our neighbors' produce stand. Its the season we're in, and we like supporting our neighbors business.
This year, I bought flower seeds. Some of these sow straight into the ground, so I have to wait a few weeks, but some of these can be started now.
I'm trying to add more flower varieties into my garden and I'm working on extending the blooming in the garden from spring until fall. Right now its heavy on summer blooms.
I bought a few seeds simply because they look stunning. Can you believe this is a poppy?
Or how about these Dianthus? I am going to try these in a pot for the deck this year.
I adore Hollyhocks. They are one of my favorite old fashioned garden flowers. I especially am fond of the doubles.
Zinnia's are the cheeriest, longest lasting bloomers in the garden! They just bloom and bloom!
I'm excited to get these seeds growing, and see how they do in the garden or pots.
Are you working on garden plans?

Poppies! Love them. Do you have any tips for a beginner flower garden bed? I have a small to medium area I want to plant flowers for cutting or just simply beauty. I am clueless.

Such a nice variety you have chosen, good luck, I love all flowers ,but Zinnias are my favorite I think because as a young child, my paternal grandmother introduced to me them, thus my love of flowers began. She helped me plant my first garden at the age of six!
I too believe in supporting local businesses especially farmer's stand, we had one for years, and are thankful for the support we had. We have been planting a few early things but our weather is so sporadic this time of year!
Enjoy and happy gardening.

Sadly now we can only use flowers that don't attract deer. We try to keep up with the repellent but it's a losing battles especially with all the rain we've had, as that washes the repellent away. We have a high fence around the small veg garden and so far they have not been able to or interested in attempting to jump in! But your selection looks wonderful!
What an interesting selection of seeds you have, and that poppy will be amazing!
With all of the major life events around our house this spring and early summer, Ron has decided not to plant veggies in our raised beds this year. Ryan suggested that we plant wild flowers in them to fill the space, and we loved that idea! It will be fun to have some blooms to cut and enjoy inside as well as outside.
The seeds that you have chosen are gorgeous!! Such artistry in these flowers! Doesn't it point to our Creator?! Please share these beauties here on your blog as they grow and blossom!
What a beautiful garden you are going to have this year!
Wow! Your world is going to be SO colorful this summer! Can't wait to see it!
