It's Important To Celebrate

With all the terrible things happening in our nation, it might seem that there is not a lot to celebrate.  I do believe that we have much to pray about, and to intercede for, I also believe that it is important to celebrate milestones.

The message yesterday at church was about how God allowed Daniel and the people of Judea to go into captivity.  While they were in captivity, God told them he wanted them to "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters.  Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." {Jeremiah 29:4-7}

God wanted the people to LIVE in the midst of the captivity he had allowed them to endure.  I want to follow this example.  I don't want the darkness to hide our LIGHT, I want it to shine out for all to see.

People need hope, and they need to see us walking in hope and love.

Today we will celebrate.  Kyle is 15 years old today.  We are so thankful for him, and his kind heart.  We are thankful for his walking in TRUTH.

We will celebrate him with a family gathering today, and he hopefully will be having his best friend over on Saturday.

  2. I agree, Deanna, in the middle of the muddle we still need to celebrate birthdays and weddings and other milestones. What great photos. He must have been a sweet boy and now he's such a handsome young fellow. Happy birthday, Kyle!

  6. Indeed, Kyle is a great reason to celebrate!! (I can hardly believe he is fifteen.) I think celebrations are perfectly in order even in the midst of difficulty. Celebrating God's good gifts demonstrate that we trust in His goodness!!
