Friday Five - Christmas Music Edition

Welcome to Friday Five - Christmas Music Edition!  I love Christmas music - maybe its the fact that we only get one month to listen to it every year that makes me turn it on my playlists and enjoy them to the fullest!

1. Creekside Cottage Christmas on Spotify.  I add or take away songs every year.  This playlist focuses on the Reason for the Season!  I love it!

2. Strait No Chaser - 12 Days of Christmas!  The video isn't great quality but its still my favorite.  This is just a fun version of this song!

3. The Piano Guys - O Come, O Come Emmanuel
So beautiful!

4. For King and Country - Little Drummer Boy (Live)
We love this version of this song, and I'd love to see them perform this song in person!

5. Casting Crowns - I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day.
Love this version of this song, and the line "Then rang the bells more loud and clear! God is NOT DEAD nor does He SLEEP!"

I'd love to have you share your favorite songs with us all in the comments!

Have a wonderful weekend, Friends!

  2. I am a great admirer of Christmas music. I will start in on it very early, even before Christmas, playing my Medieval Christmas cd’s that are Festive but not so familiar to make us tiresome about the holiday music! I can’t wait to enjoy your list!

  4. I love just about any Christmas carol. Have loved O Come O Come Emmanuel from the moment I first heard it played when I was in Grade 5. A more recent song that moves me to tears is "Mary, Did You Know?" I have a post with other favourites coming up next week so I won't share more here.

    Happy weekend...

  5. "The 12 Days of Christmas" was a fun performance! I had never seen that. And I love Casting Crowns' version of "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" . . . very stirring!

There is so much beautiful Christmas music! I suppose I love the traditional carols the best. They are filled with the glorious story of the Gospel . . . God in human flesh coming to redeem mankind! One of my favorites is "Angels From the Realms of Glory." We have recently been listening to a Christmas album by Steve Green. The medley "Birthday of a King/O Holy Night" is beautiful and powerful!

  8. So pretty, classics and just beautiful. My Spotify list has tons of Christmas classics on it, but for some reason, the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack has been on repeat this year. Instrumental jazz...I find it soothing, I don't know why, it's never been a favorite before...
