This week I saw a photo of myself from Lindsay's wedding three years ago. I started eating the Trim Healthy Mama way that fall.
This is me two and a half years later.
I eat on plan 90% of the time, and I have not weighed in ages because it goes up and down all the time. However, I continue to lose inches everywhere, and while I'd love to be like some gals who lose 100 pounds in a year, I am 53, have thyroid issues, and hit menopause a few years ago. So the fact that I am able to lose weight at all is amazing to me. I continue to be encouraged by the changes in my body.
I've not consistently exercised for two reasons - 1. my back and 2. I'm lazy. I know the exercise will also help my back, so that is an area I need to work on developing it into a habit.
I've lost between 45-50 pounds, and am down about 4 sizes in clothing. I am going to re-read the book because I think that while I am eating healthy and on plan, I am eating too many crossovers for my body to continue losing. I'm reminding myself that it didn't take me a few years to pack on all that weight and that I am on a journey.

How encouraged you must be! The change (just from the neck up) is apparent! I like your honesty in including "lazy" in your evaluation. I confess the same thing. I have 5 pounds that won't budge and am pretty sure that is the missing ingredient...I can identify.
you are an inspiration of beauty, inside and out, dear friend. ♥
lovely then and lovely now.. i'm so proud of you, deanna.
i agree with re-reading the THM book - getting back to basics
and refreshing the reason and process.
I've got a friend that has lost 55 pounds on that eating plan. You look great. Congrats
That's a great weight loss and its best over time, so you've done well and look great!
Wow...that is wonderful, Deanna! That is something to be proud of. Congratulations on your weight loss! Can I ask what the actual plan is?
Debby I follow a way of eating from the book Trim Healthy Mama.
This is wonderful!!!!! I have to be honest I giggled when you shared your reason for exercise...Lazy. I totally get it. I have challenged myself to walk daily and on the most part since October I have. Even in rain. I do it for mental health more so than anything but it has also helped me in the weight area.
Proud of you and keep it up!!!
It is so obvious in person that you have really lost inches. I'm getting a feel for how very tiny you must have been when you got married. :-) Kudos to you for doing the hard things that bring this success.
Deanna, CONGRATS to you! I'm going to have to get my hands on this book. My daughter has it. I have thyroid issues as well with having no thyroid due to thyroid cancer.
Blessings,
d
