Celebrating

We had a bit of celebrating here on Sunday.

Joseph has a birthday this week and Lindsay wanted to surprise him.  We put our heads together and pulled it off!

She decided to do "walking tacos" for the food!  This was a huge hit.  It is like taco salad in a bag!

We got single serving bags of Doritos at Costco, cooked up a lot of ground beef, chopped tomatoes, lettuce, onions.  Added cheese and sour cream, as toppings as well.  We put out Thousand Island dressing and our homemade ranch, if anyone wanted to add salad dressing.  We bought a Costco cake and Lindsay decorated it in text that a programmer (her husband) would love!

He was very surprised and pleased! I think she pulled off a good surprise for him!

I was able to get some Christmas decor put up this weekend.  It was a lot of fun, and my girls helped me.

This years Ladies Tea for our church is going to be on the small side, so I decided to simple host it at my house.  It is this evening!  You can see I changed the message on my chalkboard tray to reflect the theme of the tea!  Celebrate the Nativity!  Sarah drew the little nativity drawing not he chalkboard.

Emma heads back to school today as well.  She will be back in three weeks for the Christmas holiday!  While we are not celebrating her leaving, we will certainly celebrate her return!

Have an excellent week, friends!  I'll be back tomorrow with photos of the tea!

Hard to say goodbye to Emma, and the three weeks will speed by!

  2. I loved the idea of the walking taco salad. I'm going to copycat that.

I'm also going to copycat the tray. I already loved the tray, but I extra love the wording of "celebrate the nativity".

  4. Everything looks so festive, warm, and welcoming! Those three weeks will roar by and Emma will be home. I am so glad that she was able to be home for Thanksgiving. The walking taco party looks like such a great idea! Now have a blessed evening. I feel somehow that a smaller setting is going to be a huge blessing for those who attend.
