Baby Quilts

My daughter, Emma, is due in June with her third child, a boy, and I'm working on a quilt for him.

I do quilts in my own way.  Sometimes I make squares, but sometimes, I find darling fabric and make a solid front and back and then quilt around some of the design on the fabric.  That is what I am doing this time.

When Emma was having her 2nd baby, I knitted him a blanket, but didn't do a quilt, so she asked if I'd make him a quilt, too.  Of course!

I found this darling sea turtle fabric.  The colors are vibrant with blues, greens, yellows, and oranges.  I love it, and I think Clark will, too!

I have a bit of work to do on them still, but its going to be a good project to occupy some of my time here at home.

I hope you have a great day!

Oh! Also, I added a photo to the chocolate chip cookie recipe post from yesterday.  You can find that post {here}.

What a clever way to make a quilt! I’ve promised Louis Dean a denim quilt for years and actually cut it out last year. I fully intend to make it before his birthday in November. It’s a Texas Flag quilt using red white and blue denim. I think I cut it out too big. It will be a HUGE quilt but Louis Dean is a big guy!

great fabrics and wonderful idea for a quilt. Somewhere along the way, I've forgotten that there was a new grandbaby coming.

Lovely fabrics. My grandchildren all had handmade quilts. I dont think I'd have the energy to do them now.
