Decluttering is something we all think about as we approach a new year. We want to clean out, organize, and find peace in a decluttered and tidy home.
I find that my soul needs this kind of decluttering as well.
Sally Clarkson wrote about it so well here.
Over the next few days I will be taking time to talk to my Father and declutter my soul. To give to Him the burdens on my heart that He asks me to cast onto Him. He wants me to rest in Him, even in the midst of a storm.
I'm feeling the need to be with Him, to hear what He has for me, to give it all to Him.
I'll be back in the New Year!
Thank you all for this year of friendship, encouragement and hospitality. I appreciate all your kind words, and your visits to my cottage.
Happy New Year!

I'll come back later to read Sally's article, but it sounds like a wonderful way to proceed into the New Year. Being quiet before Him...listening to His voice...
I have been quiet in Blogland this week myself. Ron is off. We're visiting with family. Spending time together. Making memories. Tonight we'll celebrate my sister's birthday. But I have read your Christmas posts and I have enjoyed hearing about your celebrations! I LOVE that you and Sarah sang together at your Christmas Eve service. Lovely! I know that you missed Emma this year, but I appreciate your attitude of gratefulness and your willingness to change traditions and expectations to meet the needs of your growing/changing family. Life is not static and we need to change with the needs.
Happy New Year to you and yours! Hope to SEE you soon!
Rest well!
Wishing you the happiest times for 2017 Deanna. I am with you....time to spend a little time in prayer and thanksgiving. Hugs!
"...give to Him the burdens on my heart that He asks me to cast onto Him. He wants me to rest in Him..."
Amen.
Have a blessed time "away."
I need to do that too! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
Ahhh...
Love this!
Happy New Year to you and your family.
happy new year!!!
Wonderful words of encouragement and so true. We all need these times of 'declutter' and being still with The Lord. I think there are many that would find encouragement from your words. I hope that you'll find a change to link at The January Party.
